Meh. It really didn't do much for me.Yeah, it definitely proves that the aesthetics work in the modern day, and that compromises can be main that retain authenticity.
For whatever anyone can say about Axanar.... the Ares was one gorgeous ship.

You mean all the ships (aside from the Ares) borrowed from ENT and 2009 Star Trek??I wish Discovery had gone for this retro pre-Original Series look. Klingon ships that look like Klingon ships. There's the visual connection to the universe I knew and loved right there in whatever version of the Axanar trailer I happen to come across. Detail running deep into the production design, and which are much more than easter eggs.![]()

I seem to recall a time when they were the unTrek abomination![]()
As waves pound upon the ferment and breach as a Dagger of the mind.It kinda makes sense that the script author would reserve the only special ship for his character.
No, it really doesn't because at it's PEAK the Axanar campaign had 14000 backers. In terms of global Star Trek fandom and marketing - that's nothing. It's a couple showings in a movie theater on one day. Whether that would appeal to the general audience at large (which either a TV series or film HAS to do to be successful) is very debatable.Yeah, it definitely proves that the aesthetics work in the modern day, and that compromises can be made that retain authenticity.

And my response was my personal opinion and why I felt that way - welcome to a discussion board.I wasn't talking about how many people saw it or backed it; It was a personal opinion, that the ships and aesthetics look as modern and sleek as anything from the modern day, and would be accepted fully if used for a modern production.
Ferment? Like grapes? Mayhaps ye meant "firmament"?As waves pound upon the ferment and breach as a Dagger of the mind.
If anything Discovery suffers from trying too hard to conform to modern fashion trends. It feels...forced.

Axanar ships now available from Studio Bergstrom!
I have finally made an agreement with Alec to sell my Axanar ships in my Studio Bergstrom Catalog. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to help keep this fan production going.
