Until I see something confirming I'll need consider we both read a very poorly written comment.I saw that on FB the other day. Vance is an awesome guy, and I am disappointed that happened to him.
How interesting. No one has stolen anything from Starbase Studios. It's time for that rumor to get shut down. A few items that were owned (bought, built and paid for) by a former staff member were taken back after he recently left the group.
Nobody here was starting any rumors, merely asking questions to avoid the furtherance of rumors - not to be nosy, but out of genuine concern. In light of the general tumult that the fan film industry has found itself in this year, the concern is rational and understandable. No one has stolen anything from Starbase Studios. Re: Emails: @Mu Cephi: I don't think any of Alec's followers will have their minds changed by the release of emails, damning or not. I don't think any of Alec's critics will have their minds changed by the release of emails, damning or not. All it will do is give each side more to argue about. :/
I'm reminded of the guy on Mythbusters: "I reject your reality and substitute my own!"

So, what you're saying seems to imply that a break-in never took place at all, but that someone took things back, ostensibly with the full knowledge and awareness of the staff - totally above-board and legitimate, yes?
Understood, thank you. That is correct, yes.
So, Jimm., took 2/3rd of the set back, huh?No one has stolen anything from Starbase Studios. It's time for that rumor to get shut down. A few items that were owned (bought, built and paid for) by a former staff member were taken back after he recently left the group.
Most of what you suggest actually was already found in discovery during the lawsuit. The long-term plan for the studio, to form the foundation for commercial film projects, was also outlined in the Axanar annual report. It was also explicitly stated by Alec Peters in his September 2015 Chicks Who Script podcast appearance, where he stated, "The studio is the endgame." The continuing donation cycles were explicitly referred to in Axanar's Indiegogo pitch, and in their plans for further merchandise production.Unfortunately. But I think every revelation cycle shaves more people off the donor block, fans who aren't necessarily in the discussion groups. If by chance (and I have no knowledge of the emails) something like "official plan (Top Secret): the point of Axanar is to keep donation cycles going until we get our studio built and win multiple film contracts" were to appear, I think you might lop off 95% of the few remaining donors. After all, the memo would be about them and their goals.
Instead of a smoking gun the backers got a smoking crater.Yeah, there isn't going to be a "we're scamming the rubes!" smoking gun email. I think they honestly wanted to make the movie, but continually moved the goalposts again and again as to what constituted the point they were ready to begin filming.
Alec the Martian?Instead of a smoking gun the backers got a smoking crater.
