I have never disliked designs made for the series
I do think Ares looks more advanced than the TOS Enterprise despite predating it.

Reusing the ST09 designs (with new nacelles) was weird considering.

How dumb are you to get in on the scam pyramid scheme at this point? A kickstarter to pay for the perks of a previous kickstarter from years ago that they’re straight up telling you they never bothered to honor. But donate to this one, we’ll totally honor it, promise.*

*with proceeds from a future kickstarter in 2027

Anyone that thinks they'll be using this money for anything other than sushi and carpet, simply hasn't been paying attention.

The Ares has TMP detailing, a classic movie-era deflector, a bridge of animated graphics and touchscreens yet comes before TOS? And why do we even need the Enterprise if the Ares is as badass as she's presented in Prelude and the unmade Axascripts?

I'm curious if whatever they use for the keyboard area of the consoles is cheaper than authentic jelly bean buttons would have been.

The new ST-09/Kelvin style consoles at the front of the bridge look great. The pilot's console looks like something with a clashing aesthetic dropped into the middle. The unfinished science station looks awful.

Indeed. The design language definitely has that fan feel to it of trying to be both TOS and not all at the same time.

But, the Ares class is definitely more advanced and that is also the trend of fan ships of being more awesome that a Constitution! Faster than a speeding Hermes!

Yes, this morning, strike that, just this very moment, I got an update on the bound hardcover Axanar script crowdfunding, which was kicked off of Kickstarter (because of the haters) and is now being run independently.

It's not normal for people to have haters at all, let alone enough haters to get a Kickstarter kicked. And it's even weirder that there's no attempt to explain the situation and mend fences with Kickstarter, getting it back up where it presumably belongs. It's almost as if they're up to dodgy shit and further violating their agreement with CBS.

But they're not doing that, are they?

Morons.

Paramount/Viacom never reacted well to Star Trek fiction that resembled authorised Trek products.

What what? Where was this reported?

They're back up to 2-3 emails a day now. There was a quiet time a few months ago, but they're back in full force now.

I can't imagine there can be much money left to squeeze out of Axanar fans, one would have to think even the most hardcore would have said "that's enough until they show me something" by now.
