There has been an Axanar add-on for a board game released. Interview about it on FanFilmFactor:
https://fanfilmfactor.com/2019/08/1...r-purchase-audio-interview-with-ken-burnside/

Interview answers the following question according to Jonathan Lane:
Now, you might be wondering if this game is licensed, and if so, licensed from whom: CBS or Axanar Productions…or both…or neither? An excellent question! And it’s one of the many I asked Ken Burnside in the following audio interview that’s definitely worth a listen…

Interview answers the following question according to Jonathan Lane:
Oh Dear God....

Normally, I wouldn't waste 40 minutes of my precious lifespan to listen to a Jonathan Lane podcast, but know Ken Burnside. I met him a few times, back when he was working with / for Amarillo Design. I'm really disappointed by some of his comments. He should know better.

Quoting Ken: "When I can get a license, I get a license. ... For Axanar, it's a little weird. ... I have gone thru and made sure Axanar uses nothing that belongs to Star Trek." :brickwall:

He goes on to say "I only used the stuff that was created for Prelude to Axanar, so we D-6's but we don't have the Klingon Battlecruiser." :wtf: That would imply that Axanar invented the term "D-6", when in fact is was used by FASA and is still used in Star Fleet Battles. :p

He points out that the word "phaser" was used by other companies, e.g., a brand/model of 3D printer. I don't think any of them used it to describe a sci-fi weapon.

Best line spoken by Jonathan Lane: "Not that you should be taking legal advice from me." :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Really?

The one line that hit close to home was when Lane said "Just having someone named 'Garth' ... you can't just say 'Everyone named "Garth" is owned by us'." Here's the thing: my legal given-name as printed on my birth certificate is "Garth". And unlike Garth Brooks, it is my first name, and the name I go by.

Back when IMDB still had the discussion boards, I commented negatively about Prelude To Axanar. A few days later, I received a notice from IMDB saying they had received a complaint which claimed I was using the complainant's copyrighted / trademarked name "Garth" without their permission. Well, IMDB wouldn't tell me who filed said complaint, so I can't prove it was Alec Peters or anyone related to the Axanar project. The timing was very suspect. Whoever it was, all I have to say to them is :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored:!!!!!!!!

Garth is a perfectly awesome name, I hate to see some AP muck it up.
Damn did I say "Muck"?
Yeah, I did.
It's not my nature to stay pissed at any one person. No doubt AP went overboard, got sued and we got guidelines. Anyone worth half their salt would have done a mea culpa and moved on.
While the rest of us played by the rules, minded our P's & Q's, A.P laid low until the heat died down. The man uses everyone and he used all the rule abiding fan films as cover. By now Paramount probably feels the guideline had there desired effect.
A few years pass, here he comes again and damn the guidelines. I haven't a clue as to how much Paramount pays attention to who is doing what but can't help but feel as if all the fan films will have to pay again for whatever A.P has in the works.
What next. We get a 5 minute time limit?
Is Lane's project simply a diversion? I don't get good vibes from any of it.

And in other "let's treat the guidelines like TP" news, I give you ...

Lol - I believe that WOULD violate the CBS Settlement terms (were Mr. Bakula to appear; which let's face it, he wouldn't touch this thing) as Mr. Peters was only allowed to continue to use Actors who had already appeared in "Prelude To Axanar"...hey wait, YES, Mr. Bakula PLEASE appear in a cameo in Peters film...:rommie:;)

Exactly what I was thinking, and I wish I knew how to contact Mr. Bakula to say to stay away from this guy because he scammed fans out of $1.5 million dollars.

My understanding of the settlement is that ne can only use actors that appeared in Prelude which means Kate Vernon, Gary Graham, J.G. Hertzler, and Tony Todd. Scott Bakula did not appear in Prelude therefore he can not appear in Axanar.

I think there were donor emails yesterday, but I had so much going on that I didn't get a chance to read them. If I get time later, I'll take a look.

Don't know if he actually responds to fans, but here's Scott Bakula's Twitter, and John Van Citters.
