The Season 1 DSC writers (and cast) kept saying they looked at 'The Final Reflection' for inspiration with the Klingons as well, but I've never read the book so I don't know how much that actually made it into the show, other than referencing 'The Black Fleet' in dialogue.

John M Ford was commissioned to write some Klingon texts for FASA's RPG manuals, using the material he had created for "The Final Relection". He speculated that there were various classes of crested Klingons (as seen in TMP and ST III), plus human/Klingon fusions (as seen in TOS and TAS), used to infiltrate Federation space, as well as Vulcan/Klingon fusions and Romulan/Klingon fusions as slave classes.

The pointed-eared Kelvinverse and DSC Klingons are covered by the above.

  • We may now know why Axanar: Confidential #26 disappeared earlier this week from Axanar’s YouTube channel — possible defamation. Learn who was the target of Alec Peters’ rage in footage since excised from the live-stream recording.
  • Those weekly Prelude to Axanar “watch parties” on Axanar’s YouTube channel may be violating Peters’ settlement agreement with CBS and Paramount in the 2015-2017 Axanar copyright infringement lawsuit. Learn how.
  • A behind-the-scenes video produced by Robert Meyer Burnett about Prelude to Axanar lies at the center of a new copyright dispute between him and Peters, with Burnett getting YouTube to take down the video from Axanar’s YouTube channel. Learn how Peters responded and what may happen next.
  • Despite losing $5,000 the first time in Atlanta, Peters plans to host a second Axanar fan convention, AxaCon, in Los Angeles. Learn when it might happens and how it dovetails with shooting the Axanar shorts.
Short Takes: Peters offers to let fans name Axanar starships. For free. This might not sit well with donors who paid thousands of dollars for the privilege. And the Doctor Seuss estate is appealing the copyright and trademark infringement suit it lost over the Seuss-Star Trek mashup, “Oh, the Places You’ll Boldy Go!” … And other things you might have missed in the news.

Good. I hope they win the reversal. I hope the appeals court slaps down the original judge for being stupid.

I thought we were in like season 10.
i'm afraid you're right actually. axanar isn't about some war, its a temporal phenomenon and WE're trapped in it.
i liked the story arc but it's becoming pretty episodic lately.

The Ares is one fugly ship.
i hope i don't hurt anyone's feelings but i very much agree. it's like a miranda refit minus everything that that looks good.

Does the person who posted the video determine if there will be adds, or get money for them? I had assumed that was all set up purely done by Youtube automatically, and that any money went to them.

I can't believe he's trying this again.

It will be interesting to see how the appeal goes, I was surprised they lost in the original lawsuit.

Most not think his customers are very bright.

Oh, wait ... some people are *still* giving him money.....[/QUOTE/]
How does one who claims to be all about Star Trek and Gene's vision require so much money to achieve so little?

See, I'm in that minority who dislikes saucers mashed into other components or half cutaway or whatever. I think the separate dish is what gives the Federation ships a distinct look apart from something like the original Romulan ship, etc. I don't like the Reliant much for that reason. I would buy it for something off-brand like the Defiant, but in general I never like those semi-saucer ships. And the Ares is a prime example of that.

@carlosp for your continued journalistic service in making sure that idiot doesn't scam more people.
Hear, hear!
