That was filmed in 2013ish? And LFIM is trying to pass it off as "new"?
And we're what, surprised by this?

No, the only thing that still surprises me at this point - and this "new release" just reminded me of it - is how much peripheral material exists based on a film that doesn't. I mean, look at the roster. Prelude has an excuse because it was supposed to be a lead-in to making Axanar, but since then a whole 'nother fan film was made, two shorts (the Vulcan short and this one), illustrated stories, internet comics, documentary-worthy footage and chintzy merch, and now, thanks to carlosp's latest post, I find out there was a game. There was a game??? I had no idea there was a game...and BTW, what the hell could you have put in a tie-in game with nothing to tie into??? I suppose you could borrow material from FASA, 'cause from what I understand that's what the whole Axanar idea came from, but how would the creators of FASA feel about that?

Upthread, Ryan Thomas Riddle judged the Heroes short boring, which leads me to the other thing that surprises me about the tie-ins: All of them are boring! Prelude was boring first! I have not seen one thing associated with Axanar that didn't make me roll my eyes and seek better entertainment from youtube. I get that Prelude has almost reached cult status among its fans, but to me it's always been twenty minutes of talking heads droning about nothing, and the other stuff is like their creators went to school to learn how to create Prelude like content.

I'm done trying to figure out why and how LFIM still manages to garner support. Years ago a bunch of fools commited suicide because a bigger fool told them there was a UFO tailgating a comet, so if all the fools following Peters are doing is wasting money and giving him convention space, whatever, man. All I would ask is that if one those fools is inspired to create a project based on Axanar, they just create something original, because you're going to have make it up yourself anyway, because Axanar doesn't fucking exist!!

(Heavy sigh...)

I kind of dip in and out of this stuff so I’m no expert but just look at the list of people who have allegedly done Peters wrong, be it property theft, embezzlement, shoddy direction (?) or harassment.

If it’s all true then Peters is either incredibly unlucky, an extremely poor judge of character or a fucking idiot.
It's not all true. Most of the things that Peters accuses other people of are things of which he is guilty. He's the asshole.

The fact that there are people who believe Q-anon crap and that somehow il Ducebag is going to be reinstated as Prez just proves the old adage of there being a sucker born every minute...but given how much the population has increased since that was coined, it's more like a sucker born every 12 seconds.

Yeah that's the impression I've been getting. It's a shame too. Vic Montogna of "Star Trek Continues" has also gone down the toilet after those stunts that he pulled ended up getting exposed.

Nah. We always knew it was definitely coming. And was totally worth the wait. We also got large chunks of episode with each upload.
Point taken. And well worth the wait! Parts 1&2 on the Exeter website was the first fan film I ever saw!
:) :) :) :)

So, timeline wise, where do the start of filming of "Heroes" and "Prelude to Axanar" relate to each other?

Alec Peters, always a "class act"...oh, wait...:

Shawn can be a little much from time to time, and I certainly do not condone him involving his kid in any of this*, but come on, Alec. By yelling at a kid who really wasn't doing anything, you have made O'Halloran look like a saint.

*it's of course, ultimately, Shawn's decision -- I just would keep my children away from all of this if I were in that deep

Not necessarily.

It could be all three...

Shit like that reminds me why I took a few steps back from following this.........both sides can just look childish quite often.

What bothers me most about the Axamonitor group is the attack on things with Alec that has nothing to do with Axanar. Attack the constant fundraising, the continued delayed production, the over merchandising, the obviously using all of this as a source for Peters' livelihood, awesome by me. Anything in his past in regards to props and other things that indicate a pattern of behavior, great. Have at it! But any other personal issues and *ahem* proclivities is really, in my opinion, none of our business. But no one asked me.

Each to their own but I wouldn't have sent a child of mine over to do something like that. If Peters had unleashed a round of fucks at him I'm not sure it would've been good for the kid. Maybe the kid went over by himself?

From what I read, the kid did go over by himself. However, as a parent, if I was involved heavily in a group whos activity could be taken as stalking (as Axamonitor honestly kinda can be), I would keep my kids as far away from that shit as I could.

But like you say: Each to their own.

Yup as noted earlier, Axanar had moved to the far corner of the hall.........where no other vendors were. I find it strange that the kid would be over there ALONE. I'm no helicopter parent, but I don't think I'd let a kid less than 16 wander around a convention hall alone in Vegas.

Bizarre to consider the American Dream has become the opportunity to grift online, do YT videos for donations and sell crap just to make a few dollars.

I jest of course, it's bloody everywhere.

What I find dismaying is that the responses to the posted video consist mainly of complaints about the Axamonitor Group's zealotry and Shawn O'Halloran's parenting skills and nothing about the fact that Alec Peters ran off a little boy like the kid was gonna firebomb him or something. And then he gloated like Barney Fife about it ("You gotta scare 'em off.") I don't care what a freaking Facebook group has done to him, that is not a normal way to react to a child who was probably just curious. I've watched the clip a few times now and I can't see that the boy was doing anything but looking when Peter's went all "Get Off My Lawn!" on him. It was an overreaction, which probably did more to make the kid a hater than anything.his father might have done...and neither the father or who he associates with justifies Peters' actions.

What Peters did is shitty. No question about it. But are we at all surprised? Perhaps I’ve just become numb to him and his actions. I expect Alec to do the wrong thing. Thats his nature.

The whole situation could have been avoided though. That’s kinda my point.

When I was growing up, there was a grumpy old man on our street who would yell at kids for no reason. It reminds me exactly of that. This is so much, "Get off my lawn!"*

* - Not even his lawn, but totally akin.
