Probably because they don’t know what any of it really means. To be fair, there’s a whole larger-than-cottage legal industry that focuses exclusively on copyrights, trademarks, patents and intellectual property of all stripes. There’s a lot more to it than a handful of Wiki pages, which usually is what confuses most people.

 

“$100 million dollar lawsuit”. Don’t recall that figure being asked.

 

I mean at $150K per Copyright violation for a project which takes almost everything from various Copyrighted properties, they'd have to have 600 instances to get to $100m.

Maybe that's what he planned to ask for in a counter-suit against CBS/Paramount.

 

I would have loved to see him work out the lost bootleg Star Trek movie merchandise profits CBS cost him and sue

My God I really hate those uniforms. The collar is so wrong-looking. Why didn't they just stick with the Cage-era tunics? They looked much better in almost every measurable way...

 

Something they can sell, of course. Unflattering yellow jammies with awkward black panels are a little less blatant than 1:1 copies of actual Trek costumes.
