Egad, I have a ton of ancient screws in my cellar from the previous owner (NB we have lived here since '95; the previous owners were here for 42 years and the house was built in 1896 or 1897 or 1914 -- depends on who you talk to) which are in about the same shape as those screws.

You think I can become a contributor if I send over the old screws (there are nails and some spiderwebs mixed in there for free) in a pair of coffee cans?

Don't forget the Donor Store. Alec had to get his inventory from somewhere, and as you recall, patches purchased through the DS were shipped quickly.

As for that Captain's Chair panel... seriously? That's the best you can do?
It's clear all the competent help left the production a long time ago.

Why use 4 screws when you can use 6!! I really don't understand three screws on the smaller ends and no screws on the long ends; WTF?

They need a 3d printer to make various greebles to cover stuff like that. They don't even have to be competent 3d artists. they can just minecraft their way through it with someitng like the 3d slash website.

Wouldn't a thin strip of double sided sticky tape be sufficient? Much tidier too!

Thin Velcro is often a good solution because it allows you to easily lift the panel and get to the equipment under it.

I used to use a lot of magnetic tape around the factory but I think in this case a nice funding program would be in order.

If that story is about replacing the damaged panel, how come the top photo makes it look as if the whole Bridge set is still under construction? I call schenanigans! ;)

Oh, NOW is the time! Now, he says! Well, thank goodness he told us, because I would have had no clue exactly when was the right time to flush my hard earned money down the shitter on Alec's ongoing confidence game. That dollar-for-dollar idiot donor match is just the right incentive!

Oh, come on. So many complainers. Peters is making the Star Trek film we've always wanted!

You know, the one with screws in it, the one with shoddy paint jobs, the one with poorly cut wood and parts not painted before a device was set in it. And one with an upgraded captain's chair even though the old one never saw any use.

Trekkies has been dying to see a film where in HD you can submit so many goofs to the IMDb page.

Finding and using old screws takes time and money. Come on. And the hammers, well, they're those special $400 hammers the government was buying well over a decade ago.

I know what you're thinking: I can find screws for free in the Wal-Mart and/or Lowe's parking lots. Yes, but...

ScreenRant pitch meeting guy: "I'm going to need you to get all the way off my back about that, sir."
