I'm going with a no, on that.I wonder if Pike will be depicted as sexist towards Number One if the female character is on the ship?

Some things are better left in the past. There's enough sexism in real life and among fandom to go around; no need for Pike to spout it just to match up with a throwaway line from 53 years ago.
Then they would have to give the character a name, thereby ruining some of the mystery. Is there a chance that "Number One" might become captain of the USS Discovery? If so that you need someone for at least a season long commitment (assuming USS Discovery has a revolving door for the captain's chair without keeping Saru or Burman in it for the rest of the show).
Yeah, she'd make a good choice too.On another thread, I jokingly wrote Hayley Atwell as my choice for Number One
That's uncanny. I also had that idea for her character. She could have a lot of self-hatred, because she feels trapped by her nature and the life it denies her. She would always fear losing control and becoming like the other Augments. Though she loves her enhanced abilities, more often than not she wishes she was normal.Maybe she's so stoic and logical by choice because she does tend to have a more aggressive temperament due to her genetic engineering. That would make for a much more interesting character in my view.
She's constantly at odds with her inner-self and uses Vulcan techniques to retain her composure.
Imagine the discussions she could have with Burnham over the incident in the pilot!
Internally she would probably agree with Burnham's actions, but externally she would see the folly of said actions.
Now there's real character conflict!
I can see her avoiding interpersonal relationships with the crew and keeping to herself most of the time when not on duty.
Would even be interesting to see Captain Pike be aware of her inner turmoil and have purposely promoted her to the bridge to keep an eye on her and also occasionally test her mettle by goading her on.
So many ways to go with a character like that I can't even list them all here.

Well it would certainly be spot on with how many African American's feel they are still being treated now-a-days.So if Pike was originally racist instead of sexist, and didn’t like it when black crewmembers were on the bridge, would you think that DSC would keep that aspect of his character?
I wonder if there will be other members of the TOS crew on Pike's Enterprise aside from Spock?
To be fair, they made Doctor #1 pretty chauvinistic in the recent x-mas special. I never saw more than one or two of Hartnell's episodes, so I don't know how accurate that portrayal was. But clearly they were trying to recreate the character as seen back in the 60's.
I'll throw out two names:
Priyanka Chopra - now that Quantico has been axed, she is available and would add more ethnic diversity to the cast.
Sarah Shahi - currently starring in a show called REVERIE, which by all accounts is awful and won't be picked up after it's summer run. Versatile actress, right age, has played lots of tough, no-nonsense characters and can do a little comedy as well.
