Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Yeah, I've got to agree that Claudia Black is way off for Soleta. She's not a bad actress, she's just not even close to how I picture the character. The two I've heard that I like best are either Jennifer Connolly, or Lucy Liu ( I have no idea why, but for some reason I tend to picture Vulcan's as Asian).

what do you think of his suggestion of Sandahl Bergman for Corsi? she is defiantly to old for Corsi

Claudia Black's completely wrong for Soleta. too tall and too ... angular. Soleta in the 2 NF comics has a much softer, rounder face.

^^ Apropos of nothing, but it seems to me that how an actress looks isn't nearly as important as how she, y'know, acts.

i can't comment on CB's acting skills. never seen farscape or stargate when she was in them.

but, when you're adapting stuff, it generally helps to get someone who looks like the character's supposed to as well as someone who can act.

Hugh Jackman may be a foot too tall for Wolverine, but he otherwise looks the part and acts like an angry short guy.

Kathy Bates for President Bacco is a good one. And while I do like the idea of Christopher Lloyd for Pran, I have to admit that when I picture and hear him he's pretty much Terry J. Erdman. If you can get ahold of the Fan Collective DVD collection that deals with alternate realities and whatnot he speaks on the featurettes about the different episodes.

exactly and claudia is a kick ass actress
She is, but (and I'll admit it's been a while so I maybe remembering the character wrong) I never really saw Soleta as that much of an agressive hothead. Plus, she just looks nothing like how I picture Soleta.

well Claudia's character of Vala on stargate wasn't really much of a hot head or aggressive (except maybe in the seduction department)

I guess, but I still don't see it. You can see it all you want though, that's the fun of this, it's all based solely on personal opinion.

For whatever reason, I like to "cast" actors from TOS or who might realistically have appeared on TOS in TOS-era stories (excepting Vanguard).

When reading Ill Winds in Shards and Shadows, I imagined someone very similar to Diana Ewing (if perhaps somewhat more athletic than thin) as Sarah April:

(Apparently, Memory Alpha and I chose the same Droxine screencap. :o)
