It has been remade in the states and stars William H. Macy.
Well, the US version isn't on DVD yet, so you won't find that.
I'm reading The Ruins of Noble Men, from Vanguard: Declassified, right now, and it's mainly focused on Desai & Fisher.... This particular story also features a character named Ying Mei-Hua, who I've been picturing as Ming-Na.
