Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

^^ Bruce Boxleitner for Vaughn? Vaughn's supposed to be over 100 years old. Even being in prime physical condition for his age, he should look decades older than Boxleitner. IMHO, he should look a few decades older than his pictures on the book covers.
That's nothing make-up can't fix. Did you see Babylon 5's series finale, "Sleeping in Light"? True, Sheridan wasn't suppose to look 100 years old, but he definately looked a lot older with make-up.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

I concede both your points, though I still think an older actor with less makeup needed would be preferable.

Also, if Picard is supposed to be in his early 70s, think about how even he'll look in 30 years. A fair bit older and more weathered than the gentleman on the cover of Mission Gamma: Twilight, I'd think. But then again, this is Star Trek, where there's a tacit assumption that what we as the audience see isn't exactly what the characters themselves see.

Boxleitner's voice is an interesting option for Vaughn's, though. I'll have to reread some of his scenes and try to hear it.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

I don't know that much about the history of Vaughn, but since he looked so young on the covers I just figured there was something funky about him that meant he wasn't aging properly. I still like that idea :)

Christopher Lee as Akaar?

Mike

I'd been pondering the possibility of Christopher Lee as Vaughn myself, but I'm not sure Lee (82) could handle that kind of physical work. Then again, since reality isn't actually a concern... ;)

Though he could certainly pull of Akaar's just-this-side-of-rude aloof and disdainful attitude.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

^ Christopher Lee for Akaar, i don't know I just don't see it. Personally, I go with the guy from Red King's cover, who is, I belive the actor that played his father in TOS.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

I was going with "tall' and Mr Lee was the only name that popped in my head. And Allison Janney is totaly wrong for the part.

Excellent choice. Never thought of that. I had pictured Kiefer Sutherland while reading it, but AMH definitely fits the bill.

Has anyone noticed how much the model of Treir of M:G book one's cover looks like a green skinned Rosanna Arquette? Just IMO...

Now picture Ethan Locken with panties on his head and you have it. :guffaw:

Sean Connery as Elias Vaughn
Russell Crowe as Yevir
Mel Gibson as Calhoun
Jesse L. Martin as Bowers

Shar...don't know about that. Patrick McKenna, maybe? (...on second thought, never mind. I always pictured him as an ENT character - Phlox's son, Metis, mentioned several times)

Christopher Lee as Akaar...yeah, I can see it.

And if I may mention IKS Gorkon: Leslie Hendrix as B'Oraq. (Law & Order fans will know whomof I speak.)

Hendrix ain't a bad choice for B'Oraq. I tend to waffle on casting for B'Oraq, to be honest -- sometimes Allison Janney is my choice, but that's not a solid choice. So I'm okay with Hendrix. :)

^ I love this one scene she had, where a murder victim has apparently died during S&M...

Rodgers: No defensive wounds.
Briscoe: That's odd.
Rodgers: Yeah, the fun part for these guys is the struggle AFTER they've been tied up.

(long pause)

Rodgers: Or so I've heard.

Yeah, Rogers is a great character.

I thought of someone who could be a good Yevir, Gregory Itzin. I think he did a good playing a nice guy in the begining of this season, and he also is playing a good
asshole.
and I think Yevir would have to be able to pull off both. Although he may be alittle old for the part, I'm not sure exactly how old Yevir should be.

Yeah, I finally saw that one after you mentioned it.

Like I wrote before, I've always loved the scene where John (I Love Girls In Blue Scrubs Who Hang Around With Corpses) Munch asked if she would ever go out with him and she said "Not while I could still feed myself."

:guffaw:
