Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

Most of my castings have already been mentioned (Bill Mumy as Shar, Phil Morris as Bowers, Liam Neeson as Vedek Yevir, Tony Todd as Taran'atar...), but what about Harris Yulin as Elias Vaughn? He was fantastic in his one turn in DS9 (season 1's "Duet" as Marritza/Darhe'el), and is certainly old enough (almost 70) to fit the bill. He's an actor of the highest class.

Here's a horrible photoshop of Yulin as Vaughn:

When I have some spare time, I might do a better one, and do some images of the other castings...

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

Harris Yulin is Money In The Bank. He would be a fabulous Vaughn.

Best real life actor suggestion yet

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

Admittedly he's too young, but recently I've begun to wonder how John Glover from Smallville under a ton of appearance-ageing make-up might fare as Vaughn. He looks not unlike the guy from the covers, has kind of an old man's voice and is thin, like Vaughn has gotten in his old age. Plus he's a bloody decent actor, IMHO. Under convincing make-up and hair dye, I think he'd be good in the role.

I said:
A thought just occurred to me.
I can't recall if anyone has mentioned this so far, but how about Donald Sutherland for the role of Commander Elias Vaughn (DS9 Re-Launch)?

I've heard the names Sean Connery and James Brolin mentioned for the character, but I think Sutherland would fit the part even better!
God only knows how many posts ago that was.

So what do you think about Donald Sutherland as Vaughn??

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

Ok, I will chime in here for a moment...

Currently finishing up Rising Son right now, Angelina Jolie as Facity seems to fit for me (even though I am sick of seeing and hearing about her on the news!), and for some reason I keep hearing Neelix's voice whenever Pif speaks. Does anyone have a choice for Dez or Glessin, the Cardassian doctor? I can't quite nail either of them down yet.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

I always saw Facity as a larger woman than Jolie, who is tall and svelte. I see someone more buxom, a fuller, rounder figure, but still sexy.

Re: Casting the DS9 Relaunch

^ In the opening scenes of The Motion Picture. Mark Lenard played the first-ever bumpy-headed Klingon. :)
