I took another look at the Bucky costume. You're right. I retract my comment. I guess the addition of all the black in the movie version reminded me of the Bucky costume.
I dunno...something just looks off about it. I can't put my finger on it. Then again, I thought the same thing with the Batman Begins suit and that has become my favorite movie Bat-suit. I'll reserve judgment until the film.

Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, and now Stanley Tucci definitely add prestige and crediblity to that cast.

Quite right. That kind of faith in the source material worked so well in Spider-man.

Cap has used guns in earlier stories and during WW2 - in 616 continuity - it was only shortly after he was thawed out that he kind of adopted a 'no guns' thing. Feeling that he could do whatever he needed to do with just his fists and his shield and his wits.
Of course I'm sure he had the Red Skull at gunpoint once and he said something bullshitty like "If you shoot me, you're going to be just like me. Merciless. Cold blooded. A total douche." and Cap probably was all like "Nooo, I don't want to be a total douche!" and the Skull laughed and then Cap pistol whipped him, dropped the gun on him and said something like "I'll never be the kind of douchebag you are Skull. I'm Captain fucking America."
And then he banged Sharon Carter or something...

I was reading some GA Cap Stories (Starting with Captain America Comics #1)recently and the only time I recall Cap picking up a gun was to have Bucky guard some spies they captured. Neither he nor Bucky fired any weapons in those stories. They were pretty gun happy on the covers though.

Neal McDonough's been confirmed. apparently the Howling Commandos may be renamed as The Invaders.

I like both Neal McDonough and Stanley Tucci's casting. I just was thinking of something and perhaps this is thread for it more than the "Thor" thread but what type of Avengers HQ are we going to see and will we see it at the end of Captain America? Will it be the Ultiamtes Triskelion, Stark Tower, or will it be Tony's compound or will they have no base but assemble on a SHIELD Hellicarrier? I think I'd personally like to see Stark Tower....since Iron Man has established there doesn't seem to be a mansion in the comic's tradition. At least one we haven't seen yet. What does everyone else think?

I wouldn't be surprised if the Howling Commandos were folded into the Invaders, since this film seems to be pretty name-heavy already. Making the Howling Commandos the Invaders, and then making Cap, Union Jack, Spitfire, etc. into something else--now that would be odd.

As I pointed out it's very possible we haven't seen the Stark family home...perhaps we will during the World War II sequences in Captain America. Now that I think about Tony's home in the Iron Man films does somewhat resemble the Stark Tower penthouse suites and his lab from "New Avengers" and the "Iron Man" book.

Since I've rarely ventured into this thread forgive me if it has been brought up but is Sharon Carter in this movie do we know and if so has she been cast? I'd imagine that she would possibly appear at the end of the movie or maybe in the sequel.
