I like the brown gloves and boots. The suspenders are overkill - too fussy - lose 'em and you've got it.
PS, has anyone broke the news about Neal McDonough possibly joining the movie? That would be great!

Dum Dum Dugan was in charge of the Godzilla squad, and he wears a nice bowler hat.
The costume sucks. The suspenders and shoulder pads are horrible. They would severly restrict Caps movements. I really hope the straps around his biceps stretch otherwise he will never be able to throw a solid punch. The brown boots and gloves do not go with the rest of the outfit. Hope Cap doesnt break a showlace while chasing down Baron Zemo. The lack of the red torso stripes is just a travesty. If he loses the suspenders it will look really stupid with all that white in the middle. Poorly thought out design from top to bottom.

I think it looks great the way it is. Love the smooth biker helmet look.
The problem with the stripes, is that unless you already knew they were supposed to represent wings, you'd think they were just, well, random stripes. Any other kind of wings up there would just be distracting as hell on the big screen.

i thought Jeremy Renner was up for Hawkeye, plus the Joss Whedon connection over on Angel. But I guess you can say the same for the pilot of Angel for Josh Holloway.

Jeremy Renner is once again being linked to Hawkeye in Avengers. which may mean Holloway is Hank Pym or may mean Holloway is playing someone else or may mean jack.

Yeah, McDonough played Lieutenant Hawk, the Enterprise helmsman, in First Contact, and he played Buck Compton in Band of Brothers.

Well the suspenders were part of a typical WW2 era uniform. Look at old videos of D-Day landings and such, they wore a webgear type thing. Even to this day its similar to what soldiers wear. The straps around his biceps... yeah that's kinda lame, unless its just "strap like" as in part of the shirt, basically like a band that has a pouch or something for tools or something. The brown boots are probably just standard military issue boots. They were brown back then. Why would Cap have specially colored boots? They're gonna get dirty, muddy and probably bloody with the ass he kicks. And yes back then they wore stuff with laces and ties. There was no futuristic velcro back then. Even to this day MILITARY BOOTS FUCKIN' LACE UP!
The white middle is kinda... odd. I'd almost think that it's slightly more ivory, but yeah I'm sure they'd joke about his "white belly". I'm thinking maybe there's a hint of the red stripes otherwise, hell probably from the dye on the webbing.
I like the helmet, smooth is pretty decent, makes sense that he should wear a helmet, everyone else is. Why Cap never wore a real helmet again after his modified uniform is beyond me. I know they say its some super special cowl thing, but... it'd still hurt like fuck if he got smacked on the head by falling debris or the butt of a gun.
I like the concepts a lot actually. Basically a good mix of modern elements and "Ultimate Marvel" elements. As for poorly thought out... what, you'd rather he run around in a spandex suit exactly like the comics with swashbuckler boots and big gauntlets?
