Capt. Robert April in ST Sequel?

What do you mean "no longer here"? Quit? Banned?

The old board listed all offenders and what their sentences were. I liked that board! It was exciting!

(And my GBOW threads could have multiple polls!!!!!)

All I know is CRA's avatar and signature vanished weeks ago at about the same time as he fell silent and 'Bonz mentioned some posters having been booted. So....

Be nice to see April but heads with Kirk because he feels Kirk doesn't deserve command of the Enterprise yet or something.

Perhaps April was intended to be the first CO of the Enterprise but had been off-planet at the time of the film. In his absence Pike took command during the emergency, then following the events of the film Starfleet promoted Kirk to Captain and CO of the Enterprise, leaving April high and dry. He could be the CO of a lesser vessel, or perhaps manning a desk whilst waiting for another Constitution-class vessel to be constructed, or in command of such a vessel.

Or, perhaps given the altered events, April is an Admiral now, or even retired. April is, after all, Pike's senior in age.

I've just made myself sad... I was thinking that Don S Davis would be fantastic as Captain April, but then I remembered he'd died... :(

If they do put April in it even for a bit, I think Brian Cox would be perfect.

After watching him in Wallander recently, I might give a small amount of support for Kenneth Branaugh in the role.

He'd fit fairly well.

Already too many white males in this universe, they should make it RobertA April who can be a sassy black woman.

I dont get it, the Enterprise in XI has only just been built and is on its maiden voyage, how can April be the first captain? :cardie:

In the novels ("First Frontier"), Captain April took out the Enterprise on a mission before the Enterprise even had its coat of paint or a name! Several levels were unfinished, but the bridge and engineering were functional.

Will Decker was captain of the Enterprise during its refit (ST:TMP). And its saucer also goes on an emergency mission in a novel, "A Flag Full of Stars", while the star drive is being upgraded.

That's one of the things I liked about Counter Clock incident. I totally bought that Robert April was the first captain of the Enterprise.

James Doohan (TAS) also narrates the audio novel of Diane Carey's "Final Frontier", and it finishes with a chilling rendition of the famous TOS "Space... the final frontier..." monolgue in Robert April's British accent!

I've seen a section of script.

Ensign: Captain! The Klingons want to negotiate terms of our surrender!"
