Can you tie a tie?

I know two knots but not their names; one is a 'single knot' that looks great with the slim ties we wore in the eighties and the other is a 'double knot' type that looks ok on the wider ones that since then came back (Hope we never get a repeat of the seventies!!!)

I've never learned how to tie a bow tie though, so every time I'm in a tux I wear a strap-on :rommie:

Rarely wear them, but yes, can tie them quite well. Never attempted a bow tie, though. Thankfully, those usually just come pre-tied :)

I had to wear a tie for work, plus I wear a suit usually several times a year. So, while not great, I'm pretty good at tying a tie.

My friend flat out can't tie one. I had to tie it for him. Then he loosened it and hung it up, so all he had to do was tighten it in the future.

I wear 'em to weddings and funerals.

I can tie a necktie but have never tied a bowtie. I'm no more inclined to wear a clip-on than to wear a pocket protector or spats.

I wear one for some meetings, but the industry I am in has really relaed to the point that it's not always necessary. But yeah, I can tie one

I can tie one, but I rarely wear a tie, so sometimes it takes a second time to get the length right and the knot looking good.

Unless its a job interview or a wedding, I have no use for a tie. All hail business casual!

Bah, damn nerds! I think if most of you had your way, all you would ever wear would be a black t-shirt and whatever pants you found on the ground first.

I know how to tie a tie, but I've only rarely worn one that needs tying. When I was in the ROTC, we had these horrid velcro "tie-tabs". The men got to wear real ties, but we ended up looking like flight attendants. I helped so many of the guys tie their ties.

Believe it or not, I have yet to meet a female who didn't know how to tie a tie. I can't say the same thing about guys. I know more often than not I need to enlist the help of my girlfriend to get my tie squared away
