Can you identify this movie? (pre-mid 80s)

I remember as a 8-9 year old kid that I saw this movie on TV one morning.

It could be anywhere from 1960s to early 1980s, but I remember a scene featuring two girls tied up to a wall and a guy also tied.

Some guy comes in with a knife and sort of threatens the tied up girl with the knife, but in a quiet way. The tied up dude starts saying stuff like, "Leave her alone or I'll...!" that kind of stuff.

But of course, he's tied up. So the "bad guy" just glances over and is amused by his threats.

The next thing I remember is that a girl is burned at the stake or something. Now, I can't remember if it's the same movie or two different movies (one of those double-feature type shows).

I was really young, and to this day, I sometimes wonder what happened to those tied up people, if they escaped or what not. (I'm assuming at least one of them did.)

Now, I can't remember if it's the same movie or two different movies (one of those double-feature type shows).
If the two scenes described aren't even in the same film, it's going to make identification even more difficult.

Was it a wesstern? Or perhaps some other period piece? That might help narrow down the answer.

I was under the impression it could've been a contemporary piece, because I thought I remembered normal button shirts.

I'm pretty sure it's the same film.

Could it be Peckinpah's Straw Dogs (1971) with Dustin Hoffman? That was the first thing that popped into my head when I read your description.
