If you didn't watch this last week, you should catch up here.

Next ep tonight. It's very funny. Working at a university, I can say it's spookily familiar.

Just watched the first ep. That was actually rather hilarious, if a little bit long.

I was really looking forward to this when I saw the trailers, as I loved Green Wing.

Campus isn't in Green Wing's league, at least not yet. I mean, it's OK, with a few chuckles every now and then, but Green Wing was just consistently brilliant.

I actually prefer the show that's being rerun after Campus, Pete Versus Life. I missed it when it first aired. The central conceit of the commenting team is wonderfully good, and the use of sporting gimmicks like instant replays, super-slo-mo, snickometers and hawkeye is just inspired. Caroline Langrishe looking ravishing in tonight's ep was an added bonus. Yeah, a lot more fun than Campus. It's on 4OD already.

I'll give Campus a while longer to warm up though, because it's not bad. Just not as good as I'd hoped.

I was really excited when I saw the trailers for it as I loved Green Wing. I don't think it's quite in the same league as GW, but housemate and I are really enjoying it. My favourite character is probably Flatpack and I like the angry engineer woman (I forget her name)

I do think that it's obvious which characters in Campus are sort of equivalents of characters in GW. Like the Vice Chancellor (Again, can't remember his name) is very similar to Sue and the English professor (I really suck with names!!) is like Guy. There were a couple of others I noticed but can't remember right now.

It is making me want to watch Green Wing all over again, though!!

It could really do with being a half hour format, I think. It struggles on the hour format.

I watched the pilot episode last year. I was a bit ambivalent on it to be honest, haven't watched any of it so far. Might check it out though.

I wonder if your love of Green Wing may be down to the fact you're familiar with the environment it's set in, while Deckerd is familiar with the one of Campus? Similar shows, different environments appealling to you both for the reasons of familiarity?

Theoretically possible, but I really don't find the chemistry between any of the Campus cast to be up to the instant, from the first-ep, chemistry between Greig, Mangan and the blond Green Wing actor whose name I can't remember right now. Also, they all came across as sympathetic characters despite being all dysfunctional assholes, whereas only the Maths lecturer, and maybe Flatpack, are sympathetic in Campus. It's a casting issue more than a setting (or even a script) issue I think. It might grow over time though. Fingers crossed.
