So, this worked in the forum that shall not be named, so I wanted to see how it does down here!!

This is basically a complaining thread that helps us find some silver lining in our day.

Ex. I hit my head on the bathroom mirror — which hurt, but then when I looked in it, I saw that my pimple went away!

The thought of creating something positive was brought up while talking to the lovely @Sindatur — so this thread is dedicated to you <3

I spent last week in Chicago, and had an awesome time (Chicago is one of my favorite cities to vacation in).

Unfortunately, it was VERY hot. And humid. In fact one night at Wrigley Field I almost suffocated because it was so crowded and there was absolutely no breeze....so I fled my seat and went into the upper deck, as far away as I could get. I found that it was much cooler up there, AND I had a great view of the city!

Another positive thing: All of the weight I lost from the heat and humidity, I gained right back from all the deep dish pizza I ate.

That’s awesome!!!! Chicago sounds lovely. It’s sick that you got to go to a game while you were there! Wrigley Field looks amazing.

So many good things!!!

It is. :techman:

Seven games, actually (five Cubs, two White Sox).

Wrigley Field looks amazing.

Oh yeah. I'm not a Cubs fan but I still love it at Wrigley. The fans are always into it (no matter how badly the Cubs might be doing), the neighborhood around the ballpark is always jumping, the atmosphere at the games is electric.

(White Sox fans, OTOH, are total bandwagoners. They only show up when the team's doing well. Which they are, right now...the Sox are division leaders, and so the games I saw were sold out, but if the Sox aren't doing well, there'll be more visiting fans than Sox fans there. )

Another bad thing though: The day I left for my trip (Sunday 7/25) I cut myself shaving - literally right before I left for the airport. So I spent the whole flight to O'Hare with a head wound.

The counterbalance to THAT, though, was when I came home. My flight was due to leave at 12:45, so I show up at O'Hare at about 8. Spent the whole time in the United Club drinking gin and tonics and watching TV. I barely remember the flight home! :ouch:

I was mowing my yard today in the nasty Florida heat and humidity. It was awful but it had to be done.
The neighbors across the street who have a swimming pool (I do not) decided to turn their house into an Air bnb or something like that. A family was having fun in the pool while I was mowing and grumbling to myself. I was cleaning up the mower when a beautiful woman walked up from across the street and gave me a Powerade. She said that it looked like I needed one. I thought that was very nice. It was even my favorite flavor. :)

My basement is flooded. :(

But the GOOD thing is...

I'm still alive, and my house still has power and water.

I just can't do anything in the basement except shave. #firstworldproblems
Aww man. Sorry to hear that!!!! Sounds like a great excuse for not having to shave!
