Burn Notice: Season 4 - Discussion & Spoilers

Why would you want to get rid of the brother? This is the episode where they discover he's the Bay Harbor Butcher. :p

Found this while trying to look up this episode's cast list:
Bruce Campbell starts filming Burn Notice Prequel in Jan.

In a press release from the USA Network today, it's confirmed that Jeffrey Donavan (Michael Weston - Burn Notice) will be directing the upcoming "Burn Notice Movie" that will star Bruce Campbell (Burn Notice, Evil Dead, Amy of Darkness).
The two-hour movie will premiere on the USA Network in Spring of 2011and will be a prequel set in 2005 that will reveal the Sam Axe and Michael Westen back story on "Burn Notice".

That sounds SO awesome.

Tonight's episode? Meh. Nothing terribly special. Mom had a few good moments, but the rest was fairly average. Even getting the list was not that eventful. I think this was really just a "set up" episode for things to come.

I've long since bailed on the series, but I'll definitely catch the Sam Axe prequel movie. Anything that puts Bruce Campbell front and center sounds good to me.

Anything that puts Campbell front and center that doesn't involve cheap-looking space ship sets or monsters, you mean? :)

Oh, I've sat through more than my share of the movies with the cheap-looking space ship sets and monsters, too. I really have no idea how I got through THE MAN WITH THE SCREAMING BRAIN.

Sam tries to help a friend who's been deemed a dirty cop clear his name. Elsewhere, Michael plans to meet with Jesse's former handler in order to make sure government documents end up in the right hands.

Cast Rafael Sbarge as the concerned friend and the viewer will know he's the bad guy. Good thing they revealed him to be the bad guy early on, though with the way Sam kept telling the wife everything I was half-expecting her to be the real bad guy. Dirty cop was smart enough to not want to plant the drugs himself, but how they were able to set him up was pretty poorly written. Not the best "job" plot this show has done.

Did Jesse hide the flash drive in the wall? Seems like of random for Madeline to walk in on it. I wonder if it's possible that switched flash drives because she doesn't want Michael to go back. Doubtful though.

So Brennan is the big bad to end the season? I recognize him, but I don't even remember who he is.

Michael's enemy Brennen and Michael's former friend Larry team up to pressure Michael into killing some government agents.

Michael is forced to take desperate measures when a tactical-assault team heads to Miami to go after him and the ones he cares about.

Two hour season finale tonight. And judging by the thread activity, I won't be starting a thread for season 5. :(

On a side note, regarding last week's episode -- okay, for whatever reason the data on the flash drive couldn't be copied. Fine. But why couldn't they just print it all out?

I have to say: I'm getting a little bored with the show. I'm not sure why... It's... ok. But some how, the magic isn't there for me. Like... It's still light, but, there's something more serious about the show... It was more A-Team for me, and now, it's... I don't know...

I'm recording the show to watch later, when hubby gets home.

I still like Burn Notice, but, yeah, I gotta agree. It has lost some of its spark this year. I think it would help if Michael had more to do. A lot of this season has been him waiting, looking, bidding his time. I'd like to see a bit more of bad-ass Michael with Sam & Fiona.

But I'm looking forward to seeing the finale tonight. Brennen was a good adversary, so I hope tonight is a little more "A-Team." :techman:

Just watched the finale. I don't want to give away anything for those who haven't seen it yet, but if I had to choose one word to describe these two hours of Burn Notice it would be this: EPIC

Of course that's just my opinion, but I just thought it was awesome.

Seconded!
It's one of those TV moments where you catch yourself uttering "HOLY F**K" every second scene. The ton of movie references they threw in again was also a nice touch.

I wish I had a bone saw...ha Brennen...you idiot. Dead idiot that is.

I was hoping Jesse would bite it...no such luck however.

Michael's back in? I bet it won't last long.

I just realised that the show is a remake.

McGill (known as "Mac") was a former U.S. intelligence agent based in London. After being thrown out of the agency for something he did not do, he finds his "false" reputation has preceded him everywhere he goes. To make ends meet he takes odd and intriguing "private eye" type jobs all over Europe, all the while trying to clear his name.
