Building the Eaglemoss Enterprise-D partwork

No I think the Eaglemoss IS (still holding out hope...) larger than that. They never gave the measurements in terms of scale. But it's close to 70 cm long (2 feet +), 55 wide. Something like that.

Absolutely fuming tbh. They took a payment from me less than 2 weeks before they filed the notice of intent.

I hope someone picks it up going forward.

That's cool news regarding PCT for you 1701-D builders. Sort of what I thought might happen with the partswork models, but I didn't expect the actual manufacturer would take them over, but I suppose it makes sense.

Unfortunately, with regard to everything else, a quick look at Heathside Trading's website shows their specialty is clearance and closeout merchandise. Therefore, I wouldn't expect Heathside to continue any of the Eaglemoss lines they purchased, just be a way to sell what's already been made.

I actually heard something from an Eaglemoss employee before they went bust. They said that there was another *top secret* Star Trek ship part work in development, obviously this is now also in limbo or cancelled. So not only is it *possible* that we might be able to finish our Enterprise D models, but there could also be *another* Star Trek part work model coming out at some point over the next few years…. I will not be buying it though unless I get to finish my D! Once bitten and all that…! :klingon:

I might even rescue Seven of Nine and her now non corporeal crew from the wreckage of the Enterprise E if I get this good news. The Borg are closing in, the planet is already one third assimilated. A Borg nano virus has just been released in to the planetary atmosphere, the Collectives most refined and efficient method of assimilation. Planetary assimilation tubules only transport raw materials down to a planets surface you see, also providing advanced energy transfer conduits and assimilation hubs… centralised complexes for the newly assimilated to be drawn to like worker bees to a nest. Nero’s assimilated/Borg tech modified Romulan mining ship, the Narada, was equipped with one of these which was repurposed as a mining drill/mineral transport link. Typical Borg cubes have several dozen of these ‘tubules’.

But why would the Borg want to assimilate an inhospitable and barely inhabited planet you may ask? Why did they not just assimilate the Federation fleet or head for Earth once more? What had even led to Starfleet sending the now destroyed armada of starships along with the Federation flagship, now crashed on it’s surface, in order to protect this seemingly worthless ‘rock’?

The Borg of the Artefact have become archaeologists, chasing long lost and possibly mythical ancient technologies. In this case, the technologies that used to belong to the Preservers…. though this particular planet is *extra special* as it also has an Iconian gateway with it once having been an ancient intergalactic transport and trading hub many millennia ago. The Preservers had advanced technology which aids species which are becoming extinct, such as the Borg who are on the brink of this again now. The Preserver’s also had advanced techniques of seeding planets with life, a way that the Borg wish to adapt in order to propagate apocalyptical assimilation throughout the galaxy. All of this buried and long lost ancient ‘super’ technology is waiting to be assimilated... Only Seven of Nine and her crew currently stand in their way. The Borg are also going quite ‘biblical’ with their conquest; this new resurgence of the old collective having developed it’s own religious beliefs and doctrine. After witnessing it’s own destruction and seeing what lies beyond this ‘gateway’ and returning to a consciousness, the Collective has gone insane and seeks meaning to it’s new existence. In it’s quest to understand it’s own apocalypse and rebirth it has analysed the religions of tens of thousands of assimilated species throughout the galaxy, refining and filtering these belief systems down in to one amalgamation which it believes to be the most efficient and in line with it’s own ‘mission’ and ‘drive’ of assimilation to improve itself and other species that it encounters.

The resurgent Borg want to use the advanced Preserver and Iconian technology to rapidly expand throughout the galaxy - from the now reactivated ‘Artefact’ which is also slowly becoming the core of a new Borg Unicomplex in the heart of the Alpha Quadrant, drawing in the wreckage and raw material from the destroyed fleet around it for technological assimilation. The Borg’s insanity seems to have caused it to lose it’s sense of logic… or has it *actually* seen the ultimate secret of existence, of destruction and rebirth - the cycle of life and death, seeing what lies in between? Maybe this is why they have started assimilating non corporeal entities too…

They will also soon need a Queen. This has been foretold…

With all due respect, what relevance is this to the thread topic? :vulcan:

Inspiration from Eaglemoss and my devastation at not being able to complete my Enterprise D model. :wah:

Though as mentioned in the quoted post, the company may have been bought by Premium Collecting and Trading which would be *awesome*. They have allegedly bought the customer database so could potentially get in touch with current subscribers and ask if they want to resume their subscriptions.

I would definitely *not* subscribe to another part work though if I did not manage to compete my current Enterprise D build as I would not have trust in the business model anymore.

The Borg would also successfully assimilate the galaxy. :D:borg:

To all builders, fantastic news. I’m so happy for all of you, not just the ones on this forum. I’m happy for all the little Enterprises too.

This almost feels like the rise and fall and rise again of DeLorean. After the company folded back in the 80’s, several of the employees in Ireland bought all the supplies and materials and moved to Texas and set up shop down there. They had enough parts to set up a parts store and restoration business for existing DMC-12’s, and I think they even built a few whole vehicles as demo models. I worked with them a lot myself when I owned an ‘82 model from 2000-2003. They actually generated enough revenue to start putting together some concept cars. Here’s their website. And they’re completely legit - as close to legacy DeLorean as anyone can get.

I appreciate everyone sharing information about the Enterprise D Build Up possibly continuing. Personally I have put a fair amount of money and time into this project and really hope this continues. It really would be a beautiful model. A failure to complete the model would be a real crime and frankly an injury to the collectors.

If it's anything like the DeLorean, and not to be flip about it, the answer to that question would be "yes". Sometimes a long series of issues work in one area, then out of the blue you'll get one issue which deals with a completely different area of the model that will sit on a shelf for months until the rest of the substructure gets built up that you can attach that one months-old thing towards the end. It's a roll of the dice, really. The E-D, however, may be a little bit better planned in that regard. I honestly don't know 100%. I'm speaking more in a historical context.
