^ Most likely because they couldn't get access to any of his season nine renderings yet lol.
Well his cover for #1 is available.
I like that dark horse 25 cover very cool . now we have comic book day coming next month will there be anything for buffy or angel ?
^ Not been announced yet. Probably not.
Interview with Rebekah Isaacs, the artist for Angel & Faith.
A bit of info about #1 (not too spoilery):
Spoiler: Angel & Faith #1
We'll see Giles on page 1 in a flashback.
They said in an earlier interview that Giles is "the third most important character" in A&F, so I wonder if we'll see a lot of flashbacks of Giles.
^ That doesn't surprise me. Why do we have spoilers in a season nine thread? Like I said before, people shouldn't be in here who haven't already read season eight! I suspect that Giles will be on Angel's mind a lot in that book and rightly so.
I thought that it counts as a spoiler if it's directly about the content of S9.
Since they will be working the cases from Giles's journal, finishing his unfinished business so to speak (and with the statement in one of the interviews that Giles will be the 'third most important character' in the book), maybe we'll see more flashbacks of Giles, not just those related to what happened in S8. Maybe they're using some of the ideas that were considered for the Ripper movie that never happened.
^ That's a thought. I like the fact that they'll be taking cases from his journals. This seems like another theme of redemption for Angel.
Another interview with Allie - he says that there will be probably be a Willow mini-series.
very cool I like willow my second favorite character in this series.
I can never get enough of willow.
First solicit from Dark Horse for Angel and Faith #1...
^ I'm intrigued with this enough to actually pick it up when it comes out. Buffy is out Sep right? For some reason I can't remember now.
Boston Comic Con Creator Interview with Christos Gage, writer of Angel & Faith. Listen to it here:
"...will do?" That sounds ominous. Maybe they could try to not do things they'll need to make amends for in the future?
wow dark horse doing a ongoing title very rare. looking forward to this fall excellent news.
Jane Espenson and Georges Jeanty talk season 9...
That wasn't very much. The most interesting thing I got out of that article was that the season nine release date is still tentative and not locked.
First preview page for Angel & Faith #1, released together with the working versions to see the creative process. Very interesting dialogue...
I don't know about the art - Faith looks a bit generic here. She was the character that Jeanty drew the best likeness of in S8 (unlike, say, Buffy).
I like the art a lot actually. I would agree that Buffy was constantly drawn inconsistently all throughout last season, Jo Chen's covers were much better at retaining Sarah's likeness. Dawn didn't look like Michelle at times as well. This is one of my few problems with the book last year. Hopefully the art will improve. I'm looking forward to this. I like the pairing and the potential dynamic between Angel and Faith.
Dark Horse solicitations, including Buffy S9 #1 and Angel & Faith #2.
Buffy #1 is titled "Freefall":
Now all 3 covers for Buffy #1 have been released, and I really like Steve Morris' cover - very dreamlike and surreal. The other two previously released covers (Jo Chen's variant cover and Jeanty's DH 25th anniversary cover) are also excellent, but my order of preference this time is: Morris, Jeanty, Chen.
Two covers Angel & Faith #2 have been released. Very action-hero shots, unlike the Buffy covers.
In the meantime, there's going to be a Spike web comic written by Jane Espenson and called "Magical Mystery Tour Featuring the Beetles" set between #39 and #40 in season 8. I think it will be free for download in August... but I'm not sure, this is pretty confusing: http://www.darkhorse.com/Blog/428/digital-exclusives-brick-mortar-retailers
Sep is going to be a huge month for comics in general.
