Buck Rogers 35th Anniversary

There were plans for a retooling of BSG in a second season, but they did not involve merging with Buck Rogers:

Ugh. That was just horrible. No wonder they didn't go that route. Too bad the what they ended up going with wasn't really any better.

As for Buck Rogers....I still prefer this version:

The original opening for the pilot when they played it in theaters:

Spectacularly cheesy! Silver jumpsuits probably do nothing for the kids of today. Buck Rogers is probably the epitome of disco sci-fi.

Yes, incredibly cheesy. Even as a 13 year old boy with raging hormones I was kind of embarrassed by how cheesy that was. You could just tell that Glen Larson was trying to do his version of Bond theme song credits sequence

Gotta admit, I always kind of liked the song, however.

The rumor was, if BSG had made it to a second season (Galactica 1980 doesn't count, for obvious reasons), the "rag-tag fugitive fleet" would have found Earth - that is, Buck's Earth - and the two shows would merge.

Does anyone know if this was ever actually true?

That I would have liked to have seen...
Besides, the Searcher Daedalus and the Hope class hospital ship look like one continuous line all the way back to Discovery

I love how in this closeup of the dish you can tell it (well the original one) was made from the top of the saucer section from an AMT Enterprise model kit. Bower cut off the rim and added radial strips to the underside, but you can see the indentations that are the undersides of the bridge dome and the thingy on top of the impulse engines.

I am fairly certain its fanfic. I have seen fan created timeline that ties both series together.

I wonder if Buster Crabbe's guest appearance was shot to be longer. There are publicity shots of him with Gil Gerard and Erin Gray holding a gun from the show. Something not in the episode. Probably just publicity but it got a lot of attention fro the press for a very small but very good scene.

Sounds like just a publicity shot rather than an episode clip.

Heh. Are you sure that you weren't embarrassed BECAUSE you were a 13 year old? You know how kids with raging hormones are at that age.

As for me, I was a nine year old, and all I could think during that sequence was how much I wanted to take those GORGEOUS women home with me.....

What can I say? Even at nine, MY hormones were raging too.:bolian:
