"Broken Bow" : Line-By-Line!

[ChristopherPike]

Hoshi aims her light over to where she saw something. A humanoid figure is briefly illuminated and then only the background ladder is visable.

We hear scuffling noises and other signs of movement. Various reaction shots.

Klaang: "Suliban."

The light from a phaser-rifle attachment picks out the red clad form of an alien crawling on the ceiling.

 

[LeadHead]

^Right before that.

Archer: Crewman!

 

[ChristopherPike]

^Right before that.

Archer: Crewman!

He fires but misses.

Rapid cuts of a Suliban lunging at the Security guy. He hits the ground and his weapon slides across the floor.

Archer reacts quickly, makes a grab for the rifle, firing and hitting one of the invaders. Hoshi squeals as the Suliban lands near her.

Klaang looks up, just in time to see a Suliban drop on him.

Silence.

The lights come back up and Archer staggers over to the empty bed.

Fade out.

Fade in to the Bridge and Archer paces into shot, in front of Mayweather.

Archer: We've got state-of-the-art sensors... why the hell didn't we detect them?

 

[LeadHead]

Mayweather: Mister Reed thought he detected something right before we lost power.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Archer turns his attention to Reed, over whose shoulder Trip is hovering.

Malcolm: "The starboard sensor logs recorded a spatial disturbance."

 

[LeadHead]

Tucker: Looks more like a glitch.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Hoshi: "Those weren't glitches in sickbay."

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: I want a full analysis of that disturbance. Where do we stand on weapons?

 

[ChristopherPike]

Reed: "I still have to tune the targeting scanners."


^ Love that. It would've been too easy to fall back on technobabble and say "calibrate". I'm picturing my fellow Brit off to twiddle some knobs and dials down in the Armoury. Maybe polish a spatial torpedo with a brasso cloth.

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: What are you waiting for?

 

[ChristopherPike]

T'Pol: "Captain..."

 

[LeadHead]

Archer: The klingon seemed to know who they were. See if you can translate what he said.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Hoshi: "Right away."

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: Captain, there's no way you could have anticipated this. I'm sure Ambassador Soval will understand.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Archer: "You're the Science Officer. Why don't you help Trip with that analysis?"

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: The Astrometric computer in San Francisco will be far more effective.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Archer: "We're not going to San Francisco, so make do with what we've got here."

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: You lost the Klingon. Your mission is over.

 

[ChristopherPike]

Archer: "I didn't lose the Klingon. He was taken.

And I'm going to find out who took him."

 

[LeadHead]

T'Pol: And how do you plan to do that? Space is very big, Captain. A shadow on your sensors won't help you find them. This is a foolish mission.
