Rewatching the first season right now and I just noticed the role of Bruce Maddox was not given to Brian Brophy. Brophy played Maddox in his original appearance, during TNG Season 2 "The Measure of a Man."

Did anybody else happen to catch this? And has there been any word on why Brophy wasn't chosen, or if the actor was unavailable or disinterested?

Dear God, I'm getting flashbacks to that time when I was a wee little lurker and completely enamored with all the unhinged creativity related to Blue Warp Nacelles.
