Brian Brophy didn’t return?

Great Another recast.

Ernst Stavro Blofeld once went from Telly Savalas to Charles Gray in the course of just one film. I don't like it, but it was what it was.

Actually he went from Donald Pleasance to Savalas to Gray over the course of three consecutive films! :)

So, yeah, recasting was practically the norm, not the exception, back in the day. Somehow we survived. :)

How old is Maddox anyway? Ales is ten years younger than Brophy, but either way the character should’ve been old enough to oppose Data’s Academy entry by 2341.

Brophy was 29 when Measure of Man was filmed, but Maddox must have been older, since it's doubtful he was 5 years old in 2341.

Since the franchise's Kelvin movies say you can be a captain at 25, we have to assume Maddox was a prodigy and thus maybe born in 2316. Thus he'd be 83 in Picard and 49 in Measure of a Man.

This is a franchise where a lot of dates and physical appearances don't line up well. Hell, it can't even get the age of the TOS and TOS Movie Enterprise right.
well 83 year old maddox is still over a decade younger than 94 year old picard.
