Among my Trek writing... Cast No Shadow is partly a sequel to Star Trek IV: The Undiscovered Country. The Stuff of Dreams is a sequel to Star Trek Generations. Sight Unseen is a sequel to Spoiler the TNG episode "Schisms".
Yes it is, the explanation why Decker's Enterprise ship was more racially diverse than Kirk's TOS Enterprise ship was interesting, Decker wanted to experiment with diversity. Although why did the Enterprise decide to go back to being 100% human after TMP? Was Kirk racially biased?
Yeah, that was a good book. Those were some creepy aliens and it was nice to see someone pick that up. I always liked when an author will pick up a storyline from a previous episode. Like the DS9 book Unity (and the books that preceded it) finally providing a sequel to "Conspiracy". That was a great unanswered story from TNG. There are a lot of episodes that can have sequels to them. It's nice to visit a previous character or alien species that we haven't seen in a while.
My faves are Yesterday's Son & Time For Yesterday, sequels to All Our Yesterdays. I've had to keep my old paperback of Time For Yesterday, as bafflingly it is not available on Kindle.

How long ago did you check? I just looked on the Google Play, Kindle, and Nook stores and they have it, and if the release date is accurate they've had it since September '00. EDIT: Ooops, that's Time For Yesterday, still now All Our Yesterdays. Weird, I thought all of the Trek books except the first 3 Shatnerverse books were available as e-books.
I'm sure there are more here and there. Other then "Time for Yesterday", I also know "Here There Be Dragons" - an enjoyable TNG numbered book - is unavailable. I've been slowly converting my paperbacks to kindle over the past few years to free up space, and every now and then I come across one I can't buy.
The TNG-Starfleet Academy novel “Starfall” is a prequel to the “Coming of Age” episode as it tells the story of how Picard failed to get into Starfleet the first time and what he did for the year in between his applications.
It's pretty good. Not quite to the level of "Objective: Bajor", his DS9 novel, but very enjoyable with some nice ideas.
One of my favourite novels Memory Prime is a sequel to a TOS episode, which I think is called "Memory Alpha" (it's certainly about Memory Alpha); i've never seen the episode but I love the book.
