BMW Z4 Spanked by a VW GTI

See i'd love that! I drive a Nissan Sentra; it's not gonna win any speed races but i drive really fast and it's amazing what that little car can do sometimes, and i would like to be able to know what it can really do.

What year is that sentra? Love that car. I learned to race in my uncles SeR. My cousins have two and my brother has one. We dropped Vvl Sr20's into them and they run like no one's business.

I'm looking at a station wagon .... :scream:

Actually, as wagons go, it's a pretty snazzy one, though.

Anyway, back to the Bimmer thrashing. :p
Actually, let's take a break from the Beemer bashing. If you want a station wagon, I think I have something in mind:

Yes, it's a turbo, with 206kW on tap. The only other fast wagons I can think of off the top of my head are the M3 and the RS4 and 6 Avants, which are at least three times the price of this baby

You guys are AWESOME with the wagon suggestions!!!That is one schweet Subbie ..., but it's the only thing The Hubby has forbidden. He has absolutely no say whatsoever about our next vehicle (because he rarely drives) ... with this one exception.

You see, our area of Boston is utterly saturated with lesbians driving Subaru wagons. You can't shake a political placard on a stick without hitting a lesbian-owned Subaru wagon ... plastered with pithy bumper stickers (but that's a topic for another thread.)

Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you, but ..., well ..., we sort of don't want to disappear into the sea of Outbacks and Foresters and Tribecas we find ourselves floating in.

Point of order, "Beemer" refers to motorcycles made by BMW. "Bimmer" refers to cars made by BMW. ;)

Still ..., that is one very sweet lookin' Subbie .... :shifty:

[Ed McMahon]I did not know that.[/Ed McMahon]

Learn something new every day. ;)

I've heard that from other Subbie owners, but I would shrug it off. Subbies are nice, but costly (in the initial purchase). They WILL NOT DIE. 150K miles means a Subbie is just getting broken in.

*cough* BULLSHIT *cough*

IMHO, "Bimmer" is some weird slang made up by dorks. Every car guy I know who has owned, driven, repaired, or raced a BMW has always referred to a BMW automobile as a "Beemer". Mercedes people refer to their vehicles as "Benzos".

^^^Then they're doing it wrong. :p It's pronounced the same way, it's just the spelling.

It's an 04. Stock though; nothing fancy in it. Just the base I-4 in it. Still though, she can cook when she has to.

The SR20VE is a fucking excellent engine, my mate's brother bored the SR16VE out in his VZ-R Pulsar to 20VE size. My last car - a 1.8 litre Nissan Wingroad - didn't even stand a chance of keeping up even when it was still 'just' a SR16VE

Your loss :p, but I believe Legacy wagons have been discontinued in the US anyway, which is a shame. I was looking at buying a third-gen Legacy myself:

Me being laid off recently has put those plans on hold indefinitely, though :(

Please tell me that was the Autobahn and these douchebags weren't doing this on a speed-restricted highway where people have the desire to survive their trip.

Mainland Europe somewhere;

The funny exhaust at the rear of the VW, suggest it isn't a showroom standard car.

You mean on the IS F? It's a true dual exhaust but with quad tips that are not connected to the baffles. They are separated only by an inch or two and exhaust does still pass through them.

People tease IS F owners because of this. Lexus claims it has aerodynamic benefits.

Aero benefits? I'm struggling to figure out how, from what you've described, but am interested in what Lexus are claiming.

The Legacy GT is fast, but you don't need to go all the way up to the Audi RS4 Avant to match/surpass it. An S4 Avant should do it too, and is considerably cheaper than the RS variant, while still having better build quality and finish than a Scooby. At least, my stock S4 saloon (sedan) can at least match one, and the Avant should be just about as fast.

Maybe, but at least in my corner of the world even 'just' an S4 retails for twice the price of a new Legacy GT. Even with the better build quality and finish the cost factor wouldn't entice me to buy a new S4 over a GT, if I could afford one in the first place, that is!

And is it just me, or are Subaru on a mission to make every car they've made lately fuck ugly? It started with the Impreza, then the Forester, and they've finally reached the crown jewel in their lineup, the Legacy:

Are they on a mission to lose customers or something?

Sorry for the double post, but from the sign - and 30 seconds of reseach on Google maps - it looks like somewhere near Nieuwpoort in western Belgium, just FYI.
