Needs fuzzy dice, large speakers, a hey-zeus figurine and a bag of limes.

You know, I really want to see an actual photo of a cast member (original or new) in a sombrero. Not a photoshop. A real photo. Lets see Zach quinto or Nimoy in a sombrero.

Or J.J. abrams. Editing the movie wearing a sombrero.

Thats the challenge folks. Come on, we have people on the inside. PTM is a good conduit.

All you convention go-ers - take a few sombreros with you and get those Star Trek cast members to wear 'em. I don't care who. Grace Lee whitney, Garrett Wang...anyone.

Critera

1) Must be a real photo. No photoshop.
2) Must have been in a Star Trek episode or movie.
3) Must be wearing a Sombrero.
4) Cookie monster eyes and Adama glare defenses. (optional)

I think those of us going to Comic-con have a duty to perform.

Remember Me: A Sombrero Redux

Beverly Crusher: Captain, more and more members of the crew are wearing sombreros!
Captain Picard: Beverly, I have put up wtih your fancies for long enough! Sombreros have always been a part of the Starfleet uniform!
Beverly Crusher: But Captain, why? Why would we want our officers to wear sombreros?
Captain Picard: I'm not sure, it's simply the way things have always been.
Beverly Crusher: And since when has a bandito worked on the bridge?
Captain Picard: Ensign Gonzales has worked with us for four years. I will not tolerate your prejudice against him as a Mexican stereotype.
Beverly Crusher: I know I'm not insane. If there's nothing wrong with me, maybe there's something wrong with the universe...

I'm not sure why they're going to all this trouble for the eleventh film. At this point, all they really need to do is have two hours closeup of Jeri Ryan and Jolene Blalock titfighting and shining red LED flashlights into a Handycam, and no one would utter a peep.

Don't think "North Star" had them, either, at least not visible ones.

Bet they were there, anyway. :p

God, this thread is great!

My right-click finger hurts! :guffaw:

I know! I'm still hoping that someone will make this one into an avatar for me. Only the sombrero needs a goatee and I'd like to see the twinkling Christmas lights..or the big comet or something.

Yes, I am very greedy.

And Tralah - after careful consideration of this thread, I think we can safely say that your take on the forum motto was not very far off either. We really ARE wasting time until 2009.

Isn't that the truth! I'm glad we found such a fun way to do that though!

Why have I been so long away from the trekbbs?? PHJ has saved me from a life ignorant of the joy that is sombrerotrek!! I've just spent far too much time reading this thread and giggling insanely to myself instead of getting ready for work
