I wonder why they're delaying the 3D version until later this year. Usually 3D come out when the 2D does. Not that I care since I don't have 3D equipment I'm just curious.

Simply they hope people will double dip.

Far as I can find, the BD version is a combo pack that includes the DVD and digital download versions.

Cool... I was really confused by the whole combo thing since Amazon is listing it as a single disc package. I'm guessing that's a screw up on their part. Thanks Ithekro.

^^Don't worry, the box art definitely says "Blu-ray + DVD" so it'll certainly include both.

^^Total guess, but I'd say sometime in the fall. It'll serve a double purpose as a Christmas thing and a promotional tool for Rogue One.

I went ahead and got a copy on iTunes last night just for the extra features. Watching them currently. Some really good stuff on there.

I was going to run over to Best Buy today at lunch and pick it up. Glad there is a DVD version included as the Blu-ray player at the place I'm staying is not working. (grumble grumble)... Been dying to watch it again.

Seems Target won't have a physical bonus disc

We just received the above tweet from @sandman804 contradicting previous claims that there would be a bonus disc included with the Target Exclusive edition of The Force Awakens.

The email from Target states that bonus content will be available through digital download via a unique code.

I picked one up from Best Buy. I'm not really a big Steelbook collector, the only others I have are Dr. Strangelove and that Anchorman 1 and 2 set Best Buy did. But I thought this one looked pretty cool.

I walked into my local BJs this afternoon to buy food and they had a million of them on a display right at the front door. Bought one. Hadn't given it much thought before today, won't give it much thought now. Remember when you used to really have to wait in line for a vhs tape?

It's tempting but I think I'll wait for the 9-movie set in 4K.

I was looking at pictures of the DVDs. The covers and spines don't match the ones for the first six movies. There won't be a consistent look if you display them together.
