Blood oath.

Okay...but Klingons are supposed to be way stronger than humans and we've seen many humans take down many Klingons in less time than you can say Benjamin Lafayette Sisko...so I don't think a Trill being able to do it is that far fetched. But to each his own. :) I have to say, large groups of Klingons do seem to suffer from Stormtrooper Syndrome, or the Inverse Ninja Law, or both.

Didn't you watch "Marauders"?
Klingons can be easily defeated using the "Little Rascals" technique.

Serously, Dax was presented as someone who had experience with the Batleth, but not as some super awesome fighter. Worf defeated her pretty quickly.
Both Koloth and Worf didn't want to fight her at first, becuase they didn't consider her a worthy opponent. Those Klingons probably approached her the same way, while the old man knew about any weak spot on a Klingon's body and kicked their asses.
the fights with Worf and Koloth were different, because in both cases the Klingons were out to teach her a lesson and put her in her place.

In "Blood Oath" she had a Bat'telth, Curzon's experiences and the "weak-looking-chick" advantage, and the other guys were weakly humans with bayonets.

I love the episode as well! I think it's one where they finally got a handle on Dax's character. As for Sisko, I think he just sort of glares at her at the end. In the episode that follows this one he's buddies with her again and mentions how she's one of his best officers. (He should have added, "when she's not running off to murder an albino and feast on his heart!)

As a matter of fact, I believe Sisko mentions to Dax in the episode Meridian that she's never done anything without thinking it through first. He should have added there, "except running off to murder an albino and feast on his heart!" (And just to put arguments to rest, she admits in Blood Oath that she hasn't thought this through.)

But no. He just glares at her at the end of Blood Oath and then lets it go. What a guy.

really? name a few of the many.

and while you're tryin' to think of some, I'll add that I found it difficult to believe Sisko was able to take out three in the same scene in WotW. maybe I'd believe Sisko could take out one, and maybe, I just might be able to believe Jadzia could take out one too, but not three at a time.

and I'll also add that seeing Kira take out three Klingons in that scene was just as unbelievable, but at least she got stabbed in the process.

I have to say, large groups of Klingons do seem to suffer from Stormtrooper Syndrome, or the Inverse Ninja Law, or both.

that's actually somewhat of an iconsistency in DS9. they're depicted as absolute badasses when the story needs it and at other times they're depicted like Larry, Curly, and Moe.

Serously, Dax was presented as someone who had experience with the Batleth, but not as some super awesome fighter.

Jadzia likely never picked up a batleth until she was joined. so maybe she had a couple years experience, as opposed to three Klingons who had nearly their entire lives to train to fight with or without one. again, I simply cannot suspend my belief that far.

Worf defeated her pretty quickly.

exactly. Worf defeated her easily, and he was brought up by Russians, not Klingons. and you really think three Klingons who were brought up to be warriors would be so easily defeated by a trill?

the old man...<snip>... Curzon's experiences

yeah, the magic beans to fill any plot hole.
