Ironically, despite my great love of BR, I actually think Ghost In The Shell should have got a nod for FX.

But fingers crossed that this means a third film is now likely.

I doubt it, didn't this one bomb pretty hard at the BO?
I would put it in the "did almost ok" category when worldwide grosses are included. If a third one is made, the budget would likely have to be cut in half. Not sure if that kind of movie is worth making, unless they can figure out a cheap way to make it look interesting.

It’s doable. First one was shot on a backlot, and this one had a lot of locations. You just need the right story.

The first one bombed at the box office. Give it a few years of blu-ray and streaming availability, and BR2049 will probably have done well enough to merit another film. However, if Denis Villeneuve isn't involved, I'm not sure I'm interested.

What if it's Ridley Scott?

Well here is the thing - after he did Alien, it was pretty much agreed that it was the end of the monster on space ship genre. There was no need to make another one - it would just be an Alien clone. So exactly what drew him back to his old project is unclear.

Has anyone experienced a weird glitch on the bluray of this title?

Every time it gets to the scene where we first meet Stelline a progress bar pops up on the bottom of the screen.

Just discovered that I didn't grade this. I'm gonna go with B.

It was not bad, but I'm not finding myself dying to rewatch it the way I did the original. I also don't believe it told a complete story; it kinda ends on a cliffhanger. In the case of TESB, that was OK since EPVI was coming down the pike. But in this case, all I could think of was, "And now what?"

If the story continues with Harrison Ford, I'll definitely be there, though.
