Well I am for one glad you are willing and able to do so and the Damn thing hopefully will be a damn fine game

No, I was depressed by what appears to be an end to the project (due to lack of information). It's not my desire to insult the man, hassle him in any way, or disparage the work he put into the project.

He does post here, so perhaps he will respond in the near term. I woudl prefer to hear the game will not be finished, versus just having to wait and eventually give up on it.

Actually, the site experienced a sudden spurt of posting, so it may not be entirely dead. He may just be focussing on developing it at the moment, now he's the lead.
