Big Brother 20

Oh, she's the nut who babbles about auras and other nonsense?

Let her be gone ASAP.

EDIT: Make that definite: Let her be gone NOW. Now is not too soon. Babbling and prattling about her sorcery?

I'm starting to like Sam, so please don't let her fall for this BS.

What is going on with this veto competition?

First, 35 years old getting senior discount, **** you.

Rachel goes first, and it seems really easy. She seems like a person of average intelligence, who naturally just calmly solved the really obvious clues. So I think, okay, why did they make this so easy?

Then the next three can't figure it out and just frantically place things based on the first line. Thank God Tyler did respectably, and by the way, the guy who self identified as dumb seems to be the only smart person in the house.

Why did Rachel think getting the crap app meant everyone hated her? That just means nobody has any strong opinions of her, if she was hated she'd be trending more. Does she not get how that works?

That "yell" app isn't just a punishment for her. It's a punishment for everyone, since they can't help but listen to it.

So Cody and Jessica were brought back to announce their engagement. Big whoop. We already knew about this from The Amazing Race.

I've been thinking about what I'd do if I were in the house and got the Yell Crap App. I think I'd play along and start reviewing back.

THIS HAS GOT TO BE, THE DUMBEST, BIG BROTHER PUNISHMENT EVER! OH, LET'S HAVE A GUY COME IN THE HOUSE AND INSULT THE HOUSEGUESTS. I LIKED IT BETTER THE FIRST TIME, WHEN IT WAS CALLED ZINGBOT! ZERO! STARS!!!!!

So what does everyone think of the reading punishment?

Personally, Hamlet is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays. I'd enjoy listening to someone read it, as long as they could do it well.

I suspect most of the houseguests don't have the first clue what the story is about.

Oh, and the costume is wrong.

Regarding the veto... I have zero patience with all this aura and other new age crap, but Brett is a jackass. Both of the "bros" need to be kicked out ASAP. Hopefully neither of them manage to persuade Sam to save them.

I like those kinds of punishments that are just kind of stupid and funny. If I got that punishment, I would ham the SHIT out of it. I'd find whatever thing in the house looks the most like a skull, I'd totally exaggerate all the accents, I'd act out the lines.

It's interesting how Kaitlin actually has intelligent instincts about the game, but every time she gets it, she says it was a psychic message. She's like the detective in the show Psych.

Yeah, Brett and Winston are acting like entitled frat boys. Before this week I kinda liked them, and thought they had good games, but if they're going to behave in this bullyish way, screw them.

You're in the Eastern time zone, right? So it's just after 10 pm for you at the time of this post?

The episode doesn't start here for almost another 2 hours.

I'm just trying to figure out at which time I should stop reading this thread so I don't get spoilers.

Brett tries the pure sociopath move and transparently try to muddy the waters of their alliance and protect Tyler. Hopefully nobody buys it.

It's cool they have autobelays on the rock climbing wall so they can actually use it.

I'm croggled at all the stuff they get right off the bat. Remember the earlier seasons when they had weekly food competitions to see what they'd get to eat, and they actually had to compete to see if they'd get to use the swimming pool or exercise equipment?

I recall an earlier season where a bible was provided... does Faysal (not sure if I got his name right; I mean the Muslim guy) get a copy of the Quran?

And yeah, good riddance to Winston, it should have been Brett first, and thank goodness Sam didn't use the power app. Problem is, it will apply next time to whoever is voted out and that will probably be somebody I don't like.

I have no quibbles at all with Sam's nominations. And kudos to her for stating that she already had her mind made up about nominations and she would not allow any one-on-one visits or bull sessions unless she specifically invited the people in. Whatever private time she gets in that HoH room, I think she's earned it.

I’m traveling and going to miss this week. I read that JC dropped the N word?

He was already an obnoxiously superficial and egotistical person who just happened to be a little person. Now either a racist or an entitled person lacking respect for anyone.

It's exaggerated. He and Whatsername (the black woman; can't remember her name) were talking about height and she was somewhat disrespectful in how she referred to short people (the conversation involved short people, Little People, and the term "dwarf").

He became upset, explained about Little People and said he's not one of them; he's just a very short man, and that the term "dwarf" is offensive. He said using that term would be like using the word "n------" (the n-word; but he said the whole word).

So she went into a meltdown and carried on about how offensive he was toward her, and that it was never okay to use that word to any black person (though I understand that some black people use it among themselves), and every time he tried to explain that he wasn't calling her that, but just trying to explain why "dwarf" was so offensive to Little People and short people, that it was like using the n-word... she just shut him down and started carrying on again.

Or so that's how it was on the televised show. How it went down in the feeds and After Dark, I have no way of knowing as I can't watch those.

Ok, that’s more reasonable.

Although isn’t little person the accepted term among the majority of very short men?

Can I call him ‘Pretentious narcissist’ instead?

Google "Little People, Big World". It's a TV show about a family of Little People that's been running on TLC for years. The parents are Little People, their daughter is normal height, and they have a set of twin boys - one is Little and the other isn't.

It's a genetic condition that comes with a host of medical issues and a lot of other issues that society in general just doesn't get... like basic access to things like sinks and counters and table tops in public places, and ramps and elevators for those with mobility problems (the dad in the show uses crutches and a scooter as his mobility problems get worse over time).

JC is a short man, but he's not a Little Person. He is frustrated that a lot of people treat him like a freak or a child, when he's a normal man in everything but height. It's not hard to believe that he's sometimes on the receiving end of the word "dwarf" - which is a derogatory term also used toward Little People.

And yeah, "pretentious" and "narcissist" are good descriptors. Though so far I don't get the impression that he's actually mean.

Brett is mean. Thank goodness Sam didn't choose him as one of the nominees, because whichever of the two she did nominate who gets evicted will have a chance to get back into the house. While I find the New Age aura babbler annoying, it's not going to matter much if she gets back in, and the other made so small an impression that I don't even know her name.

Hopefully Sam's got someone in mind in case the veto winner takes one of the nominees down.

You mean, he does not have the medical condition of ‘dwarfism’? Is that what I’ve heard referred to as a ‘psuedo’?

I don't know what the medical term is for people who are just really short but who are otherwise normal. JC is not like the family on Little People, Big World. I knew a woman in the Society for Creative Anachronism who is a couple of inches shorter than me, and I'm only 5'2" (add an inch depending on whether or not I'm wearing runners). She's not a Little Person, with the gamut of medical issues they have. She's just short.

JC was just trying to make the point that he found the term "dwarf" insulting, like black people would find "n------" insulting (as mentioned, he spoke the entire word and didn't use the usual "n-word" euphemism). The argument escalated to be All About Her and every time JC tried to explain his side of it (and he did apologize several times), she just cut him off and started ranting some more.

On a different note, Rockstar decided to do what whatsisname did last season and bang on a frying pan and scream at Brett. He wasn't at all upset by that, since it makes her seem unhinged, or at least annoying to the other houseguests, and of course he figures that means they'll kick her out sooner rather than later.

Wikipedia mentions that Angela and Rachel referred to Bayleigh as ‘ghetto’ and JC groped people with an ice cream scoop.

Yeah, Rockstar is emotionally unstable and Brett is a sociopath who knows this and triggers it intentionally.

Charming.

Is there anyone who isn't basically offensive in some way? There must be somebody who doesn't grate on my nerves for some reason and who isn't disgusting in other ways, to root for.

Na na na na
Na na na na
Hey hey hey
GOODBYE!

Guess the spirits didn’t like her aura
Good riddance to her and her spirits. Did you hear that list of charlatans and scammers she was "thanking"?

They sure didn't do her much good this time!
