Big Brother 20

wow 20 already. And I'll miss it because I don't watch tv anymore. :D Has it changed a lot since 2013?

Yeah. As with this BS thing of forcing one of the houseguests to be physically isolated and interact with the others via a robot (thus preventing her from joining in the conversations and negotiations in the HoH room), some aspects of this show have become downright abusive.

And what about the houseguest who has to wear the pinwheel? She wasn't even allowed to be present at the nomination ceremony. What if she had been nominated?

Between the physical injuries (one houseguest last year broke her foot and spent most of the season in a cast and on crutches and wasn't medically cleared to participate in some of the challenges) and the psychologically abusive punishments, I am not very impressed with this show.

safe to say I am not missing anything .

Well, some of the houseguests are fun, but yeah, the overall tone of the show has gotten progressively worse over the years.

Although I think they've actually cut down on the instances of allowing houseguests to physically attack each other (anyone remember how Evil Dick deliberately burned one of the women with his lit cigarette? I still don't know why he wasn't immediately booted and charged with assault).

I thought about that too, but then I remembered that she was in the group of 8 that were safe from nomination. So, she couldn't have been nominated, but it still sucks that she wasn't allowed to attend the ceremony.

It's still too early for me to say if there's anyone I really like or dislike. Though I'm anticipating that I probably won't like the bro-dudes.

I can't even place who you're talking about. It's going to take awhile to learn all the names. I don't even bother during the first month, unless somebody is unique enough to catch my attention.

Swaggy has caught my attention. He can go anytime. So can the new age aura woman,

I will say, I like the cast this year. Nobody is obnoxious enough for me to make me want them to go away right now, even the people I thought I'd hate. Even Swaggy has the charming kind of narcissism.

Just yeah, this robot thing is psychologically abusive. I don't mind the pinwheel, she's not getting cabin fever, she's just mildly inconvenienced. Being locked in a dark room for days would significantly raise the stress level for anyone, and Sam seems like the most susceptible one in the house to that kind of stress.

Wait a minute. is that the same guy who is hosting a podcast with Garrett wang? Alpha Quadrant.

**edit it is the same guy.
I don't do podcasts.

But yes, he and a houseguest named Jen absolutely hated each other, and he deliberately burned her arm with a lit cigarette.

It was absolutely stomach-turning to see him and his almost-but-damn-close obnoxious daughter Danielle on the last show. One thing he said that did make me laugh was his assumption that if Danielle won, she'd share with him. He said, "I've never had $550,000 before."

Well, no, and what made him think he would anyway? I thought the rules of these shows prohibit prize-sharing so there's no incentive for anyone to throw a competition or quit in return for a share of whatever money they might get from the winner. And since you can't come in both first and second, you can't win both the top prize and the runner-up prize.

Besides, Danielle was such a bitch, I doubt she'd have shared even if she did win and the rules allowed prize-sharing.

I think Sam's irritability, paranoia and erraticness is directly related to being alone in a dark room. I hope they get rid of the robot after the first week.

App thing is fine, could be interesting.

I somehow am not bothered by Swaggy's narcissism, because even though he's obsessed with himself, he's still nice to people.

And it's very progressive of them to show that little people can be self obsessed narcissists too!

I didn't catch the part where she's kept in a dark room. Who controls where the robot goes?

Whatsisname made a dumb choice for the "crap app." If you suspect the punishment is to eat what your religion says you're not allowed to eat, why choose that punishment?

Hopefully he did it as a strategic way to get sympathy, and not out of stupidity.

He picked it because he thought a food challenge wouldn't cost him any strategic value. He figured that since he was Muslim he would get a ham substitute. And if the producers aren't insane morons, he will.

I don't know where Sam is kept when she's a robot, but I assume she's alone in a room with a small refrigerator and a bathroom.

I too wonder where Sam lives when she's a robot. She's the one controlling the robot, and interestingly on the feeds they have sometimes been showing the camera perspective that Sam sees as a robot. It doesn't look that fun, it would get frustrating real fast! She's probably in some sort of hotel-type room on the CBS lot I would guess, that has a bathroom, fridge, microwave, and bed. I'm surprised by how often they have her being a robot.

I do think that Faysal is being given "vegan ham."

It didn't surprise me that Faysal was least trending, as he really hasn't been present in the episodes so far, and in general seems quiet and like a non-factor at this time.

Like I said, Faysal is the most normal person in there. The most real life hangoutable. Hence nobody is complaining about him.

I wonder what they'll give him as 'Ham'. Will it be like ham textured tofu like you could probably get at vegan markets or cured salted meat from a Muslim-endorsed animal? Gardein? Seitan?

Okay, here's a question. The woman who has to wear that pinwheel... she has to stay in whatever room she's in when it goes off. So what if she's either in the bathroom or needs to go to the bathroom? Do they let her in and out as needed?

I guess the answer is moot now, since it's no longer in effect.

Good riddance, Steve.

Steve seems like an okay guy, but easily the worst at the game. He thinks he can read and play people and he just can't. And spent so much energy trying that he made no connections except for the only guy with less social influence than him.

Katrina might be the most unpredictable possible HoH this week. Funny how it worked out that the one that flipped was the one to then with HoH. Will she stick with the Terrible Acronym Five or try to form something new?

She made such an impression on me that I don't even remember what she looks like.

If he couldn't keep his mouth shut about police stuff, how did he ever make it as an undercover officer? Aren't they trained to eat, sleep, and breathe their assumed identity and leave their real one behind?

One reason I'm glad he's gone is because it must be awful for the non-smoking houseguests to be cooped up with a smoker.

Katrina was starting to grow on me a little but now I realize I was right the first time.

She looks like the kind of player who's just going to do what she thinks is best for her in the game then she's going to tell everyone "I had a psychic intuition about it" or things like that.
