Angel for a bunch of reasons, but the one that's leaping out at me right now is what it did with Wesley over 5 years. To that point I'd never seen character development like that before.

Firefly, no question in my mind.

Of course, I have a bias against the supernatural in general and vampire fiction in particular, so that no doubt colors my preference.

Buffy was the best when it was good, but it had some real lows.
Angel was consistently great, but never reached the heights of Buffy.
Firefly had the best first season and the potential to become better than Buffy and Angel combined, but never had a chance to shine.

It was a hard choice, but I went with Buffy for having the best episodes. Buffy had a lot of crap, but crap can be skipped. Buffy is overall my favourite show.

I'd agree with this. :)

I voted for Angel although after rewatching Firefly in HD (Blu-ray) these last few weeks I was hard pressed NOT to vote for Firefly. I think if it had a few more episodes it would've topped Angel.

Jesse James in Space sure wasn't very good.

But Dr. Horrible is a hoot!:guffaw:It's got my vote.

Well Firefly never had a bad episode, but it also only had 14 episodes, so it's not fair to judge it against Buffy and Angel. I will have to say Angel is my favorite of his shows so far. It was more mature and consistent than Buffy, and went on far longer than Firefly.

I chose Angel because out of the three series I felt it was more...consistent in terms of acting, stories, writing, etc. The first three seasons of Buffy are very strong, with season four not being as strong, season five improving, and then season six and seven dropping off again. Firefly is awesome but didn't even last a full season so we only have lost potential with that show. I would rank them like this

1. Angel
2. Buffy
3. Firefly

Having tried to watch both Buffy and Angel and found them completely unpalatable, and having loved both the Firefly series and the Serenity movie, I voted Firefly.

Firefly was a lot of fun, once I got over the overly self-aware characters and a slightly insulting premise (China and the United States merge, but somehow white people still heavily populate and control everywhere seen on the show--there's not even an Asian amongst the regulars!). Serenity is a depressing drag, which too quickly inverts what I found to be the moslty unique premise of the show (anti-heroes who are out to survive become anti-heroes who are out to save society).

But since the other two series have never interested me in what I've seen of them, Firefly gets my vote.

I thought that Buffy was ok, Angel was better, but Firefly was just an awesome show period. From what we saw of it.

The best is in my opinion undoubtedly Buffy. Firefly could have been even greater, but because its wings were clipped before it had a chance to fulfil its massive potential I don't think you could say it was better than Buffy.

I absolutely love all three of his shows. Here's how I rank them:
1) Buffy
2) Angel
3) Firefly

I love spaceship shoes above all else, but I can't give it to Firefly. It was less than a full season, and frankly, it wasn't that great. A lot of potential, sure, but the nonstop gushing I see for it feels a little undeserved.

Buffy was a great show, but I'm going to go with Angel. I think it had the better arcs vs Buffy, and they managed to really get me to care about the characters, even though I hated Angel from his time on Buffy, and I disliked Gunn from the start. Xander, Willow, and Buffy never really grew on me, and I ended up liking many of the more secondary characters (especially Spike) more.

That said, I enjoyed all three, and wish that Firefly and Angel made more episodes.

I have no problem picking a 14-episode series against ones that lasted 5 and 7 years; for me, on an episode-by-episode basis, Firefly was better, in terms of characters, acting and writing. The VFX were superior, as well, but I don't base the shows' quality or integrity on their VFX.

Both Buffy and Angel had some great episodes, and Firelfy had a couple not-quite-great ones (my least favorite are "Safe" and "Bushwhacked"), but for each minute of screen time, I think Firefly had more depth, and was a more complete, textured and mature effort than the other two.

I don't know, I love all three shows, Angel is probably the one I'd go for though. Firefly had the potential but not the chance to prove it.
