Curious. If anything were to turn you off I would have thought it would be season 4. The baby & Groo stuff was pretty much just the middle third of season 3, and the Connor story in particular was pretty strong at that point.

As Cordelia is my favorite character of the entire Buffyverse, I definitely have to say that I don't like Season 4 very much.

Season 5, while an improvement, also suffers from her absence.

Am I the only person here who liked season 4 of Angel?
Nope, I liked season 4 too. There's some problems with it, but what shows don't have their problems. I think they did well with the behind the scenes problems.
Season 4 is my favourite Angel, and second fave of the Buffyverse behind Buffy Season 3.

I just love all the cliffhanger endings
Wes: It means you're a suspect. If Cordelia's right, we should admit the possibility that this Beast may have some sort of power over you to make you do things, to make you forget.
Cordy: And he has a plan. The rain of fire, taking down Wolfram and Hart, even blotting out the sun. I think I think now, those were only the first steps to something bigger.
Angel: I don't know what to tell any of you, 'cause I don't know what the plan is.
Wes: No, but Angelus might. There's only one way we're gonna defeat this Beast… We need Angelus.

Season 4 has a lot of good stuff, but the early part is difficult to watch. Easier now that I know it's Jasmine manipulating everyone, but back when I thought it was really Cordy it was just :wtf:

You know I've only watched the show once, and I didn't dislike it by any means. I watched it all the way through and it really had some excellent moments. It just never really grabbed me like my favorite shows do. Buffy, while sillier and more tongue-in-cheek, had characters I enjoyed more. It's a show I know I will watch again some day. I've never felt the desire to revisit Angel. Firefly is the same for me. Seen every episode at lease 3 times and know I'll watch them many more.

Yeah. It was sort of like implied pseudo-incest ... in a manner of speaking.

Interesting how the one season show is leading in the poll. To be fair though, Firefly IS the best of those shows.

Notice the number of people who say they have no interest in Buffy or Angel, despite the fact that, knowing something about their taste, I'm pretty sure most of them would love those. There's a stigma about "the vampire shows" for some reason. I used to subscribe to it; but I've since wised up.

Which takes nothing away from Firefly; it was great. But viewed objectively the others had definite points of superiority, including, unfortunately, duration.

That's true in my case. I've been a Firefly fan since before the DVDs came out, and didn't start watching Buffy or Angel until last month. Needless to say, I really enjoy them both.

Hey all... long-time lurker, first-time poster here.
My vote goes to Angel. Like others here, I thought it was more consistent than Buffy, even if it didn't quite reach the same heights as its sister-show.
Firefly was good, no doubt about it, but its brevity makes it impossible for me to develop the same attachment to it that I have for the other two shows. Maybe that's not entirely fair, but it's how I feel, and I'd probably be saying something similar about Buffy if it had been cancelled after its first season.

So, in the end, I have to go with Angel. It took the innovative universe created on Buffy and just ran with it, giving us five (mostly) great years of television. I still wish it had gotten another season... but at least we have the comics!
