Best First Officer in the history of Trek

I would choose Riker as the best first officer.

BTW did ENT have a first officer ?

As others have already been mentioned, T'Pol. Not how I would have done it. I would have had T'Pol as an observor/advisor only and say place Reed as First Officer so you have the more optomisitic Archer vs the more cautious (everbody is out get us) Reed dynamic. With an experimental Engine you would need Tucker in Engineering more than the bridge.

While Thelin is clearly the fan favorite, I'm a bit partial to Romah Doek.

Tom Nellis deserves a mention too.

T'Pol, as mentioned in several posts in this very thread.

Yeah, the next-highest-ranking Starfleet officer on the ship was Trip, but T'Pol was made the de facto first officer since her presence aboard Enterprise was so valuable due to her extensive knowledge of the regions of space the ship would be visiting.

I tbought T'Pol was more of an advisor.
She was most certainly the NX-01's XO, as she was the one who always took command in Archer's absence, and indeed Starfleet even officially made her the ship's captain when Archer was incapacitated in the alternate timeline in the episode Twilight.

It's fully immersive VR - it feels real. The ship is shaking, you feel the smoke in your lungs, see it in the corridors; etc.
I also figure that it's a much longer test than the last 5 minutes we were shown.

I think a much better test would be something that tricks you into thinking it's real, like with Wesley at the academy entrance thing, or whatever it was.

...in my opinion. :vulcan:

Kor

Mirror Spock. Survived for years in a mad universe, under the command of a psychopath and mass murderer, on a ship full of traitors and backstabbers.
He had "help"
SPOCK: If I am successful, you see yourself a step nearer to the captaincy. I do not want to command the Enterprise, but if it should befall me, I suggest you remember that my operatives would avenge my death and some of them are Vulcans.

One thing you should probably learn about the interwebs... everyone is talking about their own opinion. People shouldn't have to put "in my opinion" in every post.
Don't you know the rules we Star Trek fans must live by? Unless you write "IMO" in your post, it cannot be canonically considered to be your opinion.

I would like to Nominate Commander Shelby as best first officer. In the two episodes she spent on the enterprise D, she played a pivotal role in responding to the Borg threat. She showed Commander Riker how a first officer should take the initiative to compliment the captain with new information rather than just be a reflection of the captain's ideas... so much so that he made her first officer and modified her battle plan to rescue Picard. She did so well in the first officer role that Starfleet pulled her off the ship to do a fleet-wide assignment preparing the federation for a war footing.
