And as long as we're on the subject of "Kitumba," here's a little thing one of special effects guys put together--mostly just for fun. It's a clip on YouTube--a little teaser/trailer-thing.

Side question after watching this clip: Is the Enterprise not getting its P:II upgrade anymore?

Hm. Well, um, yes: it's not getting a Phase II upgrade like we had toyed with. At least not in "Enemy: Starfleet," "The Child," or "Kitumba." We may yet do it, but, I think it's just, well, more trouble than it's worth.
We get bees in our bonnet about something and think something is really cool and, after a while, dynamics change and, well, we realize that we've got bigger fish to fry.
So no refit--for now. As for what the future holds, I don't even know what I'm doing for breakfast in the morning.
Couldn't agree more. I love the TOS Enterprise and I love the movie Enterprise, but I have never really warmed to the intermediate midpoint design that was going to be used in the aborted 1970's series. It was a graceless amalgam of design ideas from the original Enterprise and what we saw in The Motion Picture... blech.Good, on the non-refit
That model looked... less than great.![]()
