Spoilers Batwoman - Season 1

You are free to say it, it's just no longer going to be respected. It's going to be shunned as it should be.

The fact that you have to imply a threat speaks volumes. "Let us say or that speech will turn to violence." You're really bringing good into the world.
We're all human, whether we like it or not.

We're all human, whether we like it or not.
And some try to justify free speech to dehumanize their fellow humans because they refuse to accept that they have a right to exist and will threaten violence in order to continue to dehumanize them. If anyone needs to learn we're all human, it's them because I doubt they got that message no matter what they claim.

Society can try to silence people all it wants. It won't work.

Again, you haven't been silenced despite your claims and insistence and threats. Society just doesn't like it anymore. That's what you're upset about, you want your speech to be accepted and that's not going to happen.

How do you know what my speech is? I'm so silenced that I haven't said anything yet other than that I'm silenced. Lol

Because no speech is silenced. We have literal Nazis saying shit openly. So claiming you've been silenced is a fabrication or a delusion.

There is when those people are trying to force others into the shadows and exclude them from society, like they did before.

Maybe they should learn that such people is no longer acceptable as are the thoughts that spawn them. We've moved on as a society and such views are no longer welcome. They've had their say and it's been rejected.

Tell me what makes such speech valuable or worthy of tolerating other than it exists and isn't illegal to say?

One good thing is you at least know where you stand with someone and a little about who they are. It's much easier spotting people with bad views when they don't hide it in code. Plus not everyone is a lost cause. It is possible for people to come to a understanding and maybe even learn to become better. Honest conversation can do that if you listen to what others say and try and understand why they feel the way they do.

As for calling people out when they say bad things. I do agree with that. That is also free speech. I think the issue is just what is to going to far though when dealing with someone you don't like. I feel firing someone can go to far but it also depends on individual circumstances. If someone showed up to work were a Confederate flag and saying racist slurs then yes that is to far. I see it as a case by case situation.

I'm kind of curious as well. I mean if it's to much then maybe over in TNZ would make sense.

I assumed he was going to be the baddie in this as well. Granted I don't know if that lines up with the comics.

Dougray Scott playing the Dad is a weird choice. He usually plays baddies.
First time I saw him was in a movie called Enigma. He played a fictional character somewhat based on Alan Turing. He displays no “bad guy” elements at all so I’ve always been a bit surprised by his other roles.

There is no positive benefit to forcing people to keep what they want to say to themselves. It adds to that person's shadow, and eventually the shadow becomes a heavy burden and the person snaps. All because some people can't deal with a few words.

And who is talking about freedom of speech? Not relevant to this discussion.

No one is forcing anyone. One poster explained to another posted what the fuller context of a word meant. That poster thought about what they were trying to say and what they were saying, and changed their mind.

Again, freedom of speech, which is what you're talking about, doesn't mean freedom of consequences from that speech.

People need to be free to say whatever the fuck they want, or bad things happen. I explained that very clearly.

No one's freedom's have stepped on.

How do you know what my speech is? I'm so silenced that I haven't said anything yet other than that I'm silenced. Lol

Oh. So, it's all a joke to you. Nice. Now, I know I can scroll past your posts.
