BATMAN..SHAZAM..and BLACK ADAM??? WOW!!

Chill? As in Joe Chill? Wow! Sounds like they're revisiting the origin story, something that's rarely been depicted in animation.
Yeah. James Tucker said that editing the episode gave him flashbacks to working on Bruce Timm's shows because the tone is so much darker than is usual for The Brave and the Bold.

Edit to add: World's Finest reports that a Warners representative has informed them that new episodes will return in late March, so the hiatus will be a few weeks longer than expected.

"Chill of the Night!" (with Kevin Conroy as the Phantom Stranger, Mark Hamill as the Spectre, Adam West as Thomas Wayne, and Julie Newmar as Martha Wayne) on March 19.

And the casting is marvelous.

Chris, which Spectre is it? Do you know?I Hope it isn't that captain sisko wannabee..I want Jim Corrigan!

It's aiming for an entirely different tone to JLU, and it achieves that tone brilliantly in my opinion.

Agreed..

It think this show is being far more cool about how they deal with the 'iconic' aspects of the comic books. JLU danced around this kind of stuff all the time; but this show, with all its nods to the silverage (and golden age) is, I think, creating a show that I will want to see again and again...I havent watched JLU in three years...

^Yes, that's exactly the story that Vendikarr and I were referring to.

Yep..it sure is. And yet that is the kind of Batman story that some people have said led to the declining sales in BATMAN books of the time, and why Marvel's more realistic elements eventually took over the comic book world. And yet, here it is, on B/B, and we're loving it (hopefully)...

Since they can't use Superman in The Brave and the Bold, they decided to have some fun by having Batman travel to an alien planet where he encounters a Batman doppelganger who is actually Superman in all but name, with a girlfriend and arch-nemesis who are, likewise, Lois Lane and Lex Luthor in all but name. Kevin Conroy voices the Super-Batman, while Dana Delaney and Clancy Brown voice the Lois and Lex stand-ins. Fun!

I haven't heard an explanation of why not, just that they're not allowed to use him, nor are they allowed to use Wonder Woman (who, likewise, does appear in the DTVs). There have been longstanding constraints on using WW in guest appearances, but a limitation on Superman is a new wrinkle.

DC/Warners should just but the bullet and pay these estates off and get ownership once and for all.

Dont they own these characters outright?
