Rest in peace, Mr. Jenner.
What an awful day. First, John Saunders, and now this. Sometimes life just isn't fair.

Damn. I was only recently watching Inter Arma Silent Leges and was reminded how awesome Admiral Ross was.
Totally. But I also liked the various little moments we get in the episode, such as Ross trying Romulan Ale for the first time.Jenner and Seddig nailed the scene in the briefing room near the end. Such a great scene.

Which reminds me of another favourite Ross moment, the scene where him and Sisko are partaking in a Klingon ritual with Martok and Ross gets noticeably distressed when he realizes he has to slash his palm with a knife. It's interesting to compare that scene with the one in which Ross is drinking Klingon bloodwine with Sisko. The admiral must not have been much of a party-goer.
Janeway and Paris...okay just ParisVery sad. Looking back he might be the only Star Trek actor to have played an Honest, non Duplicitous, non asshole Admirral. Seemingly a very rare thing. I can't think of any others like him save perhaps Kirk's brief stint. (And if anyone points out the Bloodthirsty psychopath being promoted in Nemesis, I will beat you.)
He was on Dallas for two seasons as the doctor (and best friend) of fellow DS9 guest star John Beck.
The only other thing I can think of him being in outside of DS9 was Family Matters
I'm sure I've seen him in something else as well, but I can't think of any.

He did an episode of Starman in 1986. Do you remember that?I didn't watch Dallas. I was a bit too young for most of its run. I was born early in its run. I could have gotten into it during the last few seasons I suppose, but I didn't.
Just checked. Jenner was on Dallas during the mid-1980s. No way in hell I would have been watching it![]()
I believe Admiral Ross was only meant to be seen for the opening arc of season 6. But everyone liked Barry Jenner in the role so much they brought him back by the end of the season and made him recurring throughout the seventh season. It was nice to have an admiral that you saw more than once. It seemed that in TNG there was always a revolving door of admirals, with few that I can remember even being in more than one episode.
episode? Wasn't it a movie?
