Thanks, will do! It's great to watch things from the start, anyway, even it they do start out wobbly - it's easier to see how things progress. Am looking forward to it. :)

Incidentally, was just curious ... do you have to be a certain rank before you can have a visible userpic on the board?

Ah, thanks! :) I figured it was something like that, but thought I'd just make sure!

*has a "Damar is not dead" icon all ready* :D

*sobs* yup ... it made me cry as well, I'll gladly admit it. I watched it with SB once over IM ... we needed the box of tissues ;)

Man...I am SOOO jealous!

I have no one to watch any of this stuff with anymore.

*sigh*

I guess that's one of the hardest parts. :(

Llanita - in case you don't already know The Gathering is not included as part of the season 1 set, but is sold seperately. ;)

Blabbermouth. :p

He's right, though. ;) The last 10 or so minutes get me every time...and there have been a lot of times where that episode is concerned. I really need to watch it again. After I've rewatched the series, of course... :D

Llanita, Blade Runner is quite right. If you've never seen any B5 before, bear with the first season, which is a bit uneven. It gets so much better. :D

Vash... Chin up, my friend. It'll get better. ;)

Hey all,

I hope everyone had a safe and fun Thanksgiving and day after. Today, I went to go see Walk the Line and really enjoyed it. I actually think I saw the best picture, best actor and best actress in this movie. Pheonix and Witherspoon (Witherspoon especially) did a fantastic job and both nailed thier respective roles.

I think my only complaint was that there is so much to cover in John Cash's life that they didn't do just because the movie was long. This is one of those movies where I wouldn't have minded an extra hour (It was 2 hours and 15 minutes) because the pacing was great and I didn't want it to end. Heck, I'm thinking there should be a sequal and call it "Ring of Fire". :D

Still though, it ranks right up there with the best movies I've seen this year.

Hey everyone :)

I've got some good news and some cool news. :)

First the cool news. Over the last 20 hours, we've gotten about 50 cm (a foot and a half) of snow. The outside looks so damn pretty. :D Man I missed snow over the last two years.

And now the good news. Well, besides the fact that my boss (and his boss too) are both quite impressed that I haven't taken sick leave (even though I could without a problem), I also found out that they wanna compensate me for it. So it looks like my next two paychecks are gonne be better then usual. :)

Wow, congrats. Could you just bring some snow over this way, across the atlantic though. We need it.

Congrats, BigFoot! Good time to get a better paycheck too, what with Christmas coming up ... Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet? I was in town today and started getting a bit paranoid that other ppl seemed to have started in earnest, I haven't even made a list yet!

^ Thanks you two. :)

I haven't started doing my x-mas shopping yet, but I am thinking about what I'm gonna get for people.

EDIT: typo

Congrats BigFoot. Forget the snow, how bout sending some of that bonus my way!! :D That's impressive that your boss would regard you so highly for not taking even one sick day after your accident. Seems like you've found a good place to work.

Welcome Llanita! Just thought I'd roll out the welcome mat one last time for ya, as I haven't been around these parts as often as I'd like. You're definitely in the right place for some B5 discussion. Are you amazed you found some B5 lovers in the DS9 den??? Whenever I finally see the series, I may become one of them ;)

I may have to accept my lump of coal this Christmas and wish folks a merry one! I can't believe the amount of "necessary" expenses I've accumulated over the past couple of months. New tires for my car (the service manager said he was surprised my current tires hadn't blown, but I guess they all say that ), a medical exam that I thought was covered by my insurance with a $20 copay that ended up carrying a $232 price tag, and other basic living expenses have piled up. Not to mention I already got myself a "Christmas present" when I bought a new digital camera when I thought I was going to DragonCon :p Oh well, guess I had my happy holidays already.

I am, given all the DS9 Vs. B5 fights that arise on this board. It's good to know at least that there are some who have a mutual respect for not just the shows, but for the fans of those shows as well. ;)

^We have had some doozies, huh? I never participate in them. No matter what show folks enjoy, there's no need for the bickering. I was surprised also to see so many B5ers among the Niners. Hey, it's just another classy thing about those Niners - we appreciate quality, even if that quality is the competition ;)

Thanks, kevsthaman! :) I was surprised, since the whole B5 vs DS9 thing always gets so hyped up! but it's great to see that actually, loads of people like them both. The fact that DS9 is set on a space station is one of my favourite things about the series (I don't understand why some call it a flaw!), so I'm looking forward to watching Babylon 5 whenever I get the opportunity ... and then coming and discussing it here! :D

Yeah, and we'll probably have many more. Screw competition. Quality is the only thing that matters.
