I would say each books equals around 2 or 3 episodes worth of story. Some even more.

There are currently around 16 relaunch books with the next one, Warpath out very soon.

From the BBS Treklit FAQ:

Q. What is the reading order of the DS9 post-finale titles?
A. Editor Marco Palmieri's desired reading order for the books is their publishing order, which is as follows:

Avatar, Books One & Two by S.D. Perry
Section 31: Abyss by David Weddle & Jeffrey Lang
Gateways #4: Demons of Air and Darkness by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Gateways #7: What Lay Beyond: "Horn and Ivory" by Keith R.A. DeCandido
Mission: Gamma
-- #1: Twilight by David R. George III
-- #2: This Gray Spirit by Heather Jarman
-- #3: Cathedral by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels
-- #4: Lesser Evil by Robert Simpson
Rising Son by S.D. Perry
The Lives of Dax, edited by Marco Palmieri (re-issue)
The Left Hand of Destiny, Books One & Two by J.G. Hertzler and Jeffrey Lang
Unity by S.D. Perry
Worlds of Deep Space Nine
-- #1: Cardassia: The Lotus Flower by Una McCormack & Andor: Paradigm by Heather Jarman
-- #2: Bajor: Fragments and Omens by J. Noah Kym & Trill: Unjoined by Michael A. Martin & Andy Mangels
-- #3: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed by Keith R.A. DeCandido & The Dominion: Olympus Descending by David R. George III
Warpath by David Mack (forthcoming April 2006)

Q. What is the chronological order of the relaunch titles?
A. Largely the same, but with a few changes:

The Left Hand of Destiny
The Lives of Dax
Avatar
Abyss
Gateways #4 & #7
Mission: Gamma
Rising Son (this actually starts just after Avatar and ends at the same time as Mission: Gamma #4)
Unity
Worlds of Deep Space Nine
-- Trill
-- Bajor
-- Andor
-- Ferenginar
-- Cardassia
-- The Dominion
Warpath

A timeline of these plus related materials can be found here: http://thehamster.co.uk/startrek/timeline.htm

Q. Will there be more post-finale titles after Warpath?
A. YES! As of yet, however, no details have been announced. (Given David Mack is writing Warpath, there might not be anyone left to star in another book.)

This place has been too quiet lately! Well, I'm finally caught up with my SciFi Friday shows now. Had to "acquire" them elsewhere for viewing because my VCR was acting weird.

SG-1 remains pretty good; Atlantis kinda stunk this past week; and BSG was okay, I guess.

So, how's everybody else doing? :)

*helps self to a drink and some Gramilian sand peas from the bar*

Montresor - OMG your avatar!! :guffaw: That is FANTASTIC! Did the Pagh-Wraiths get Miles too then??

*grabs a Tarkalean tea*

I'm OK this week, though suffering from an unexpected case of LJ drama! Am waiting to hear back from this job I interviewed for, they said they'd give me an answer by the end of this week. Hmm.

*hugs Llanita*

I wish you the best of luck, although if they have any sense at all they'll recognise a good thing when they see it. :)

Good luck!!! *crosses fingers* :)

Good luck with your job search Llanita! Don't be too anxious if they're a little late to get back to you, though. The past several months I've been looking around for jobs for when I graduate in May. The one that I really wanted the most took longer to get back to me than they said they would, which had me really worried. I figured that if they didn't get back to me in time, it must mean they don't really like me. But they did eventually get in touch with me and with a quite decent job offer, which I plan to accept. So just remember - if they're a little late getting back to you, it's not necessarily a bad sign!

*hugs back*

Aww, thank you all!! :o

Heh, I hope they hire me (even tho have NO experience!) , I need a gorram job already. But they asked me loads of questions about my degree and uni (rather than about the job), which threw me a bit. Don't know what they were getting at ...

Well done stkids!! :) What's the job?? And also well done on actually planning ahead and applying before the end of your course! (something I was too lazy to do, argh)

It's a bit of a vicious circle. You need a job to get experience, but you need experience to get a job. I'm sure they'll realise what a great person you are, and if they don't then you're better off without them.

Also, I second stkids. The place I am now working took ages to get back to me. So don't give up. ;)

Argh, exactly!! Hehe! Randomly, I think I remember Mindy McConnell ranting about this to a prospective employer in an ep of Mork & Mindy once! He's so impressed by her chutzpah, he hires her on the spot! But somehow I don't think that'll work in real life ...

Yeah, it is sort of a vicious cycle. But a lot of companies realize that and have positions specifically for those without much experience. In some cases, it can be a good thing for the company to hire people without much experience - they don't have to pay as much as they would an experienced person. It's especially good if the job doesn't require a lot of training so that experience doesn't matter all that much. If you've got a degree, I think in a lot of cases that can be your substitute for having job experience.

^ Hello there Vash, queen among mods. ;)

You promised you'd stop by the Commie lounge, but I haven't seen you around? :(

Hey, i could use one of those Tarkalean teas myself. Well guys, just letting you know that i leave for Mexico today; won't be back until the 25th.
