Bar and Grill 4: The Conversation Pit

Well, my dad's surgery went well so yay for that. They said it was a hard and long surgery, but yeah, it went well.
 
Thanks everyone. He's still in the ICU and will be for a few more days. We actually got some more info from the doctors yesterday and they said his surgery couldn't have gone better then it did. So yay. :)
 
Good Evening all, It's been a while. :)

BigFoot, that's good news about your father. I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

There isn't much new other than continuing to enjoy the campus here and making new friends every day. I have been a lot more tired lately, but I think that is typically the case with Daylight Savings. I had to go back across the Bay this last weekend and take care of some things like going to a family obligation and voting for the Election. Other than that, life is going well, school is going well, and I'm glad to be back in the East Bay.

My dad's actually doing better every day. He was already walking around a bit yesterday. And if all goes well (if he doesn't get a fever and if his x-rays and ultrasound are ok) he'll be going home on friday or saturday.
 
Guess who came home today? My dad! :) He's doing really well. He's sleeping right now cos he's really tired from the drive (90 minutes), but he's doing well.

Well, that's great news about your dad. :)

As for me, gwud and i are actually corresponding more. We're planning a get together in Vegas for maybe September of next year. So far, it's going well. We'll see how it goes next year.
 
A while back people were talking about Oracle. Well the company I work for just switched us over to it. I have one question. Does it get any easier? I'm about ready to tear my hair out and the headache I've had every night for a month isn't that appealing any more. :confused:

bigfoot that's great news about your dad. My dad had that surgery back in 2003 and he's been doing well since then.

Are you the DBA, or are you just using it? Cos from my experience being the DBA for an Oracle DB can be a pain sometimes. OTOH, if you're just using the DB it's not really a problem. I work with it every day and I think it works very nicely.

Alright, a couple of weeks ago PKTrekGirl and I were talking about having those avatar themes again. For those of you who don't know what's going on, lemme explain. In the past... like a year or two ago a few of us would have themed avatars for certain occasions, like a release of a movie in the theatres or a release of a movie on DVD.

Anyway, cos Casino Royale is being released in the theatres soon, I thought we could have some Casino Royale themed avatars. I'll make one for myself tonight. :)

Oh yeah, if I didn't make it clear, everyone is welcome to participate.

I don't know much about Bond or Casino Royale. So unless someone can point me in the direction of some cool photos, I can't make any avatars.

I wonder if we can get away with a Casino Royale Avatar contest? :angel:

We need some excitement 'round here. :p
 
^ That's odd... maybe my ISP was doing some work during the night and the server was down. Cos I can see them fine right now.

And yeah.... we could definately use some excitement in here.
