Hey guys,
The move has come and gone, and I've pretty much gotten situated in my new home away from home. So far, I am really excited about being here on Campus in the East Bay. I really mean that in a good way, since coming in I didn't know what to expect, but now 3 days later I am just loving this.
All last week, I was literally getting stressed out because I didn't know what to expect. What would my roomates look like? Would my shyness get in the way? What the heck am I getting myself into? Well, all those questions were pretty much answered the first day or day and a half. There is already a bond created between my roomates and I, and all of them are really cool. There is one that is a bit more eccentric than the rest, but I just need to get used to his lifestyle and I'm pretty flexible. There are more things to work out, but we'll cross that road when we come to it. So far, things are great, and everyone has a great positive attitude.
I've already created maybe 10 times more friends here than I did at my community college. At that school, it seemed like there were so many groups of people who knew each other before the first day of school, and I did feel like an outsider. Here, I've introduced myself and made friends with a few girls, some guys, and already two people in my first class.
On Monday Night, we decided to meet some naighbors and 6 of us (Our room and two other girls) went to the beach in San Francisco. After that, we went to one of the best places to go in the city, The Palace of Fine Arts, and actually saw a couple propose. Just being there (I've never been there at night), with new found friends (Most are from Southern California), christianing in the new year, it gave me a lot of pride not only for the new year, but just being in what I say is the best city in the US. It seems like I've regained something I've lost just being here, and that is self confidence. It's just making life here all the more fun.
Oh, and I'm going to my first Raider game on Sunday, and might be going to some A's playoff games and Warrior games. How's that for social networking.
I'm in the pocess of getting a computer, so my posting on here might be pretty limited. Even then, I might do some cutting back, but I won't leave. Just calming the storm and settling in.
