Bar and Grill 4: The Conversation Pit

I'm bored.

I've been off from work since last Thursday mornin', and have to start gettin' back into my sleep schedule for when I go back Wednesday.

This past week has really, truly sucked, and I shouldn't have taken so much time off.

I can spot ya the twelve bucks, if ya need it.

That's $12 per HOUR. Times about 7 hours.

But I got it sorted out. Talked to them yesterday about it. :)

PKTrekGirl good luck with your move. And try not to be soo stressed out ok? :) On the plus side, at least the board members you have to mod aren't giving you much trouble. ;)

This is true.

Although, any moment now, BR and Johi might start that new avatar contest which I'll have to pin.

I'm tellin' ya - no rest for the weary around here. :p

Damn that makes a big difference. I never knew moving could be so expensive.

Don't forget the tips! A hefty percentage, for each guy. Hurts, but a happy mover comes in handy when it turns out that something got separated from the rest of the load.

PK,

Good luck with the move. May I ask where you're going?

Oh, I'm staying in Atlanta.

I just bought a bigger house.

I had 2 bedrooms/2 baths in the old house. In this one I closed on today, I have 2 bedrooms, 1 office (or 3rd bedroom), a giant finished basement rec room, a semi-finished personal gym (including some really nice gym-quality equipment which went with the house, and which goes with my existing treadmill perfectly) and 4 bathrooms. Plus a living room which is alot larger as well, and a kitchen which has more space and shiny new appliances. Oh...and in this house there is LOTS more storage.

I should be in this house for the duration. :) Plus, there is just alot of bad karma in my old house. Alot of stuff I'd just assume forget, so the new surroundings will be great.

I posted a picture of the house at LJ. Click on my 'real estate' tag if you wanna see it. ;) It's the front view which does not show the basement (which opens onto the back yard)...but it will give you an idea.

Me runs into thread. Hey guys! Cool thread!

I recently attended a restaurant here in Melbourne where the steaks were as big as a house. This place kind of reminds me of that. Hope there's plenty of gravy...

My partner is a vego but still got to eat some nice pasta at this place. It's called Limore International. There was some guy playing a yamaha keyboard or something and singing rather badly. All in all not a bad night out.

More moving tonight.

I'm exhausted. But luckily for me, I have a nice glass of wine with my name on it. :)

Hey guys,

I hope everyone is having a good day. I'm still kind of getting over a cold, but I feel better today than I did yesterday. Tonight is really going to be fun. You've got Doctor Who, and the Season premiere of Battlestar Galactica. That, and Hockey has started and the A's are in an elimination game. The only homework I have this weekend too is Reading so I am happy.

College life is still going extremely well. I met more people this week and hung out with some more friends as the week went on. Second week into it, and I'm really loving it so far. This is a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be and that is a great thing.

Well, I got my birthday gift (a week late) from my oldest sister today - five Star Trek books I already have copies of...

...woo...

Well, I'm back from the move.

I see I've not missed much around here.

It's nice to have the home computer set up again...but it sure is weird having all of this set up in a new room. I've been posting from the same house for 5 years, until now.

Anyway, I still have alot of work to do, but the biggest and hardest part is over, I think.

Or...I hope.

Good to hear your move went well PKTrekGirl. :)

Anyway, I had a fun couple of days. I test drove the new Audi TT on tuesday. :D Man that was awesome. I got it up to 230km/h (about 145mph) on the highway.

And yesterday I went to an Oracle conference for the whole day (it was a work thing). That was pretty cool too. Most of the lectures were pretty interesting and it was fun to hang out with a couple of other people from work.

^ Oracle?

I've been involved with a huge Oracle project at work for the past 6 months. We are moving to Oracle, and with a world-wide operation, it is quite a chore. Especially since my company just got aquired by IBM and that changes...oh...about everything.

What do you have to do with Oracle?
