USS Nog.

I know out of show it was done to honour Aaron Eisenberg and I’m totally behind that, but in universe it’s a crap name for a starship.

How? How is USS Nog any different than a USS Picard, USS Janeway, USS Decker, USS Pike, USS Sulu, etc?

No idea what it means in Ferengi, but being a single syllable, I'd have to assume it's a common name. It would be like naming something after John Adams but naming it the USS John.
