I feel iffy about the USS Schrödinger.
Nebula-class starships in Star Trek: Armada and Armada II are named after Human scientists.
It's a beautiful name (one of the rare ones with umlaut!) and he's got reason to be acknowledged as a scientist but if I served aboard that ship, I'd be reminded of his disagreeable predilection.

What you said makes me wonder if the U.S. had fucked up sending monkey's into space; what would happen if one of those monkeys never came back, but was discovered by a alien being, made sentient, and then said alien being had other simians taken from Earth and them also made sentient to be his friends, who then decide to fight evil?
